The passage of health care reform hasn’t been easy for the GOP. But there is a silver liningĀ (though, some Republicans might argue that encouraging their party chairman is not exactly in the Party’s best interests): Michael Steele has finally figured out a way to raise money. The RNC’s webite, www.firenancypelosi.com, which depicts the Speaker as essentially the devil engulfed in flames, had raised $1,000,506 at the time of the bill’s signing. The site was launched Sunday evening with a goal of raising $400,000 in 40 hours. Having wildly exceeded their own expectations, the RNC’s extending the site for another 24 hours.
Update:
Hari Sevugan, Democratic National Committee press secretary, writes that although the DNC did no specific solicitations more than $1 million has poured into the DNC since passage of health care reform.
