With Money and Momentum, Scott Walker Gains Ground in Wisconsin Recall Campaign

Scott Walker's recall fight is among the most hyped races of 2012, a national flashpoint that is partly a referendum on Walker's stance on public unions, and partly a test of enthusiasm for November. But his campaign has zero interest in political pageantry. It doesn't hold massive rallies. The location of its headquarters hasn't even been made public. For the most controversial governor in the country, the numbers are all that matter.

With a month to go before Wisconsin’s gubernatorial recall vote, Democrats’ case against Scott Walker is less about collective bargaining policy itself than the notion that the governor masked his intentions to limit it as part of the sweeping budget bill he championed last spring. The argument, which Politifact endorsed, is that Walker obscured his plan [...]

In Wisconsin Recall Fight, Focus Shifts from Unions to Jobs

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, will probably face a recall election this year, an effort spearheaded in part by Democrats and pro-union supporters in his state.

But while June 5′s landmark recall election began as a fight over the fate of unions, it has since become a battle over unemployment, past promises and [...]

Wisconsin Democrats knocked off two GOP state senators on Tuesday night, exacting a hard-fought political price on Republican lawmakers for restricting collective bargaining rights of state and local employees. National advocacy groups funneled tens of millions of dollars into nine races, seven of which have now been decided, turning a parochial skirmish into an all-out [...]

What Wealth Buys In Politics: A Crank Call To Gov. Scott Walker

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker got pranked. A talk show host, claiming to be conservative moneybags David Koch, called up the governor to talk about the union showdown in the state. Walker did not really say much different in private than he would have in public. (“Yeah, good stuff,” Walker says about Andrew Brietbart, at one [...]
