Illinois Representative Compares Gun Control to Castration

"You folks in Chicago want me to get castrated because your families are having too many kids."

Illinois state representative Jim Sacia, a Republican, believes that Chicago’s “runaway gun problem” has led to unfair state gun-control laws. Reasonable people can disagree on this point. It’s the analogy Sacia uses to illustrate his view that’s an eye-opener:

Here’s an analogy folks, I ask you to think of this: You folks in Chicago, want me to get castrated because your families are having too many kids. It spells out exactly what is happening here! You want us to get rid of guns.

as a independent/democrat, i watched the entire debate that day, and i sided 100% with the republicans on this issue (and the democrat who sponsored the bill).

in illinois, the concealed carry law which is backed by NRA and GOP is sponsored by a DEMOCRATIC rep, Phelps.

And if you listened to the arguments made by the Chicago reps, they were pretty poor.

The analogy was apt

The world would in time become a better place if the gun nuts could not reproduce.

Ah but the circumcision rate in Illinois is high. Maybe he should worry about the children's safety before an adult's gonads. SMH Get your priorities in order folks.

I'd like to export this dumbarse somewhere else. Any takers? Texas - you seem to make people like this an artform - want a half bagger?

Whites need their guns but everyone else must be disarmed.  I get the message.

Castration? Not really. Vasectomy? A better analogy.

At least the right are admitting to the gun as a substitute for widdle penises.

I don't know what this guy is talking about.  I'm just trying to put some food on my family.

This is a fairly good analogy in that it points out the fact that the gun control agenda seeks to punish law abiding taxpaying citizens to compensate for the behavior of criminals.  While it no doubt brings squeals of delight from the gun haters when they see their political enemies being punished for something they never did or intend to do,  it won't fix the problem.

Well....at least he's honest about what he's compensating for.

If getting castrated stops people like him from breeding, then it's a good thing.

Positively Freudian in its non-slippage.

Ridiculous hyperbole sure makes me want to take him seriously...  62%, (and hopefully rising), see how out of touch you are.  Please continue.

Please tell me why i can't have an RPG, or a Claymore mine? I've got no criminal record, so why not give me one until i prove myself too irresponsible to own the weapon? Truth is that everyone knows that there is a bright line between a sporting weapon and one that's only good for killing en mass. The gun lobby just likes to pretend that the line doesn't exist, out doesn't apply to them.

@HudsonValleyTim Ahh argumentum absurdium; at least we aren't using ad homenim attacks.  Okay, I'll answer.

The truth is that there are millions of these so called weapons for "killing en mass".  If they were the prevalent threat you claim they are, they would not be used in less than 2% of the murders in this nation.  Your conjecture and paranoia of gun owners is driven I suspect by the usual political bigotry I see here.

We have broken no laws and to treat us all with contempt and suspicion while attempting to disarm us is unacceptable and last time I checked, the 2nd Amendment isn't about sporting and hunting weapons, it's part of the Bill Of Rights and those rights were enumerated to give us a hedge against tyranny, including the tyranny of the majority.

You can have an RPG they are not hard to find. You just need cash. It's not for you to decide what I choose as a weapon. What if told you Catholics don't need 28 beads beads on a Rosary or 7 sacraments of your Catholic. He's God you don't need to say that many hail Marys, and 7 sacraments etc?.he's God, you're baptized, you get last rights when you croak, you don't need 7. Do I have the right to tell that to Catholics? Lots of civilizations no longer in existence in the name of God. Crusades? Where did the Spanish land and wipe out civilizations that built pyramids ? So all our rights are equally important. The only one that guards them all is the second amendment and our forefathers listed them in order. I'm compelled to believe that they got it right, how else does a 200 year old nation become the super power nation in such a short time? How did we ascend do fast? We followed the Constitution and Bill of rights that's how. You can't beat the US in a fight, This tall nation will topple on it's own by people who live in such high lofty positions do high up they are chipping away at the foundation. I've never followed politics in my life. I don't know much about it. Guarantee me that my family will be protected 24 7 like all the elected officials, till we leave this earth, I'll turn I'm my guns willfully. But of you can't STF UP until you can. And anyone who thinks they are getting my constitutionally guaranteed protection in the form of the second amendment better come heeled. Because if criminals are dangerous imagine good descent citizens coming together as instructed when our Rights are being assaulted. I will do as instructed for unlawful orders. Just like any other Vet, we swore an oath to protect. You need not be a vet. It's your sacred duty as written. Don't do it, it will be a slaughter for both sides.
