The passage of health care reform hasn’t been easy for the GOP. But there is a silver lining (though, some Republicans might argue that encouraging their party chairman is not exactly in the Party’s best interests): Michael Steele has finally figured out a way to raise money. The RNC’s webite, www.firenancypelosi.com, which depicts the Speaker as essentially the devil engulfed in flames, had raised $1,000,506 at the time of the bill’s signing. The site was launched Sunday evening with a goal of raising $400,000 in 40 hours. Having wildly exceeded their own expectations, the RNC’s extending the site for another 24 hours.
Hari Sevugan, Democratic National Committee press secretary, writes that although the DNC did no specific solicitations more than $1 million has poured into the DNC since passage of health care reform.
