We don’t have audio of the second Obama call from today, and I only took limited notes — but what I have is yours, after the jump.

There is Clinton conference call at 3PM, specifically on “Why Hillary is Ready to be Commander-in-Chief,” with a coterie of military (and intel) types: Vice Admiral Joseph A. Sestak, Major General Paul Eaton, Rear Admiral David Stone, Brigadier General John Watkins, Jr., Former Secretary of the Navy John Dalton and Lee Feinstein, National Security Director.

Oh, and this just in: ANOTHER Obama call today! At the same time as HRC! Deets after the jump. Thoughts on which I should tune into are welcome.

OBAMA CAMPAIGN TO HOST CONFERENCE CALL ON CLINTON CAMPAIGN’S WRITING OFF OF NORTH CAROLINA

Chicago, IL – Today, the Obama campaign will host a conference call on the Clinton campaign’s comments that the Democratic nominee will lose North Carolina in the general election.

Congressman G.K. Butterfield and Obama Communications Director Robert Gibbs will host a call with North Carolina reporters today.

In today’s New York Times, Clinton campaign senior advisor Harold Ickes tries once again to explain away Senator Obama’s strong wins in typically “red states” by saying: “Most of those states haven’t voted Democratic in a presidential since the Johnson landslide over Goldwater in 1964, and we don’t see that changing. They’re great states, but Idaho, Nebraska and the Carolinas are not going to be in the Democratic column in November.”

WHO: Congressman G.K. Butterfield

Obama Communications Director Robert Gibbs

WHAT: Conference Call with North Carolina Reporters

WHEN: TODAY, Wednesday March 12, 2008

3:00 pm EST//2:00 pm CST

Notes from noon Obama call:

Sen. McCaskill (I think) on Ferraro comment: “any and every comment like that serves to undermine what we’re trying to accomplish as the Democratic party”

WA Gov. Gregoire: Obama more qualified than McCain to be commander in chief

Josh Earnest, Obama spokesperson, explaining this chart: Obama as won 8 of the 9 “biggest close state for 2008… if the Clinton campaign wants to say [wins are] only important in the big states, we’d love to have them make that argument.”

WI Gov. Doyle: Clinton has made the “really specious claim that wins in NY and CA means that they’re better positioned to win in the general… Wisconsin matters… those are the voters that are going to make a difference.”

Doyle [responding to different question]: “in Wisc., if she had run that ad [red phone ad], I think the margin would have been even bigger.”

Gregoire: “I don’t think anyone in my state believes anything other than this individual is prepared and has the inspirational capacity of a Bobby Kennedy.”

Question: Can you win without florida? [McCaskill, I think]: “We must allow the Florida delegates to have a vote… that’s not the question… this isn’t abt any of us wanting to be dismissive of the people of Florida or the people of Mich… [we need a solution that’s] respectful of the people and respectful of the rules.”
