I have a piece on Obama’s performance in Iowa last week, speculating he may have — to borrow a phrase — finally “turned up the heat.” There’s definitely a different feel to the campaign these days. As senior adviser David Axelrod put it: “It’s a much more visceral message now. It’s much more from his gut … the stakes are high, and he wanted to make sure his full motivations were clear.”
