The ever-vigilant Greg Sargent picks up on Mitt Romney’s hilarious scorching of Obamacare. Romney, of course, passed an entirely similar plan in Massachusetts a few years ago. He did this before the Republican Party’s current spasm of wingomania, when he thought it might be–get this–a credential in his quest for the presidency.
The sad thing is, rather than touting that he did it first (and it’s working! and, at last glance, capitalism survives in the Bay State…) Romney will now empretzel himself into pretending he didn’t do what he did. I’ve pretty much laid off giving politicians unsoliticited advice, but: embrace it, Mitt! Run as the guy who wants to return the Grand Old Party to Grandeur…and sanity. Run as a grownup. The camouflage ain’t working.
