The Florida congressman who pleaded guilty to cocaine possession last year is due back in Congress this week after completing a rehab program during his leave of absence.
Rep. Trey Radel (R-Fla.) said he’s excited to get back to work representing southwest Florida in the House of Representatives, NBC reports. Radel pleaded guilty to cocaine possession in November after he was busted buying drugs from an undercover cop. He took a leave of absence and completed a rehab program, then promised his constituents he’d regain their trust by fighting for them on Capitol Hill.
But Radel’s future on the Hill is still shaky. His conduct is being investigated by the House Ethics Committee and he’s resisted calls for his resignation from some colleagues.
