First Lady Michelle Obama said in a new interview that even though she owes her enviable arms to weight lifting, she’s tweaking her workout to include yoga as she turns 50 on Friday.
“I’m seeing myself shift from weight-bearing stuff—even though that continues to be important±and the heavy cardio and running, to things like yoga that will keep me flexible,” she told People magazine in an interview hitting newsstands on her birthday.
President Barack Obama is planning a big dance party for Michelle at the White house on Saturday night, the Associated Press reports. Details are being kept secret, but rumors are swirling that Beyoncé might perform, since she and her husband Jay-Z will be in town for the Magna Carta World Tour. There’s one thing I can tell you for sure… people will move,” senior White House adviser Valerie Jarret said.
In her interview, Obama didn’t rule out using botox or plastic surgery in the years ahead.
“Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves,” she said. “Right now, I don’t imagine that I would go that route, but I’ve also learned to never say never.”
