On Thursday, Obama is scheduled to announce that he is ordering the federal government to increase its use of renewable energy to 20 percent by 2020, nearly triple the 7.5 percent currently used. The increase is part of a broader initiative to combat climate change by limiting pollution.
The AP reports that Obama will increase the government’s renewable energy use by issuing an executive order, which applies to the U.S. military and all federal agencies.
