President Barack Obama said in an interview Friday with Barbara Walters that he does not often think about his personal safety, thanks largely to the Secret Service.

“It’s not something I think about,” he said. “Mainly because we have a Secret Service that does an outstanding job every single day.”

ABC News’ Walters interviewed the president on the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

“And, obviously, tragedy reshaped the Secret Service in many ways, but they do an outstanding job and it’s thankfully not something I spend a lot of time worrying about,” he added.

The full interview will air next Friday on 20/20.
