Disgraced sexting politician Anthony Weiner says he’s sorry if his exploits have hurt his wife’s image.
“I duck it as best I can, but her reputation has become the Woman Who Married an Idiot and Stuck with Him,” Weiner said of his wife, Huma Abedin, during an interview with GQ.
The former congressman and failed New York City mayoral candidate, who was caught up in multiple sexting scandals, said he regrets the way the negative media coverage has affected his wife, one of Hilary Clinton’s closest aides.
Reflecting on the middle-finger he flashed at a group of journalists after his concession speech in September, Weiner said: “Huma’s been kind of traumatized by this whole thing. So I was just completely frayed at the edges. But I knew immediately it was a mistake.”
