President Barack Obama will travel to Boston Thursday morning for an interfaith service dedicated to those killed and wounded in Monday’s bombing at the Boston marathon, the White House confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick announced that Obama would attend the service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in the South End, less than a mile from the blast sites, on Thursday at 11am.

According to the White House, Obama will no longer travel to the University of Kansas on Friday where he was supposed to deliver remarks.
