On Meet the Press on May 6, Vice President Joe Biden got a little ahead of his boss. While Obama had said his position on gay marriage was “evolving,” he hadn’t personally endorsed it, citing a personal religious opposition to the practice despite his support for civil unions. Asked about his own position, Biden just went ahead and embraced the whole thing. The White House was flooded with questions and soon enough, Obama’s “evolution” was complete. He personally endorsed gay marriage in an interview on May 9.
