Obama’s First TV Ad for 2012

According to CBS News, it’s a tiny ad buy on national satellite stations meant to test the viability of recruiting volunteers via TV. Despite recent stirrings of the DNC, it’s too early for advertising to have much direct effect on the general election anyway, but it’s not a bad illustration of the Obama campaign’s challenge at this point: recreating some of the energy and manpower that was a strength of the ’08 effort for a cycle in which Americans are generally down on the whole process. Also: “Because we’ve got so much more to do” sounds like a slogan that might be sticking around.
