The Not-Romney Primary

Unlike Tim Pawlenty, who is the midst of a Truth and Authenticity tour to signal that he doesn’t suffer from Romney’s perceived flipfloppishness, Ron Paul isn’t being so subtle:

GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul took in over $1 million Sunday using an online “money bomb” that hit at the Republican field’s front-runner, Mitt Romney.

The title of the “money bomb” is “The Revolution vs. RomneyCare: Round One.”

The frontrunner for a party’s presidential nomination is always going to have a big target painted on his or her back, but Romney’s health care apostasy and the dynamics of a wide open, unpredictable field raise the possibility that the race in its early stages will largely become a contest of who can most excite GOP voters with their prospects for beating Romney, rather than defeating Obama.
