Call it Mr. Duck goes to Washington.

Willie Robertson, a star on the A&E reality show Duck Dynasty, is attending Tuesday night’s State of the Union address as a guest of Louisiana Republican Rep. Vance McAllister.

“I am proud to have my close friend, constituent and small business owner, Willie Robertson, attend tonight’s State of the Union Address as my special guest,” McAllister said in a statement. “I look forward to the two of us representing the Fifth District in DC this evening and bringing some diversity to our nation’s capitol.”

The Duck Dynasty family has been under fire in recent months after patriarch Phil Robertson made anti-gay remarks last year. Robertson was briefly suspended from that show but the suspension was quickly withdrawn after conservatives rallied to Robertson’s side. The show, which follows the Robertson family as it runs a duck call fabrication business, has suffered a ratings drop since then.

Willie Robertson is widely seen as playing a key role in McAllister’s 2013 special election win. He appeared in a commercial endorsing McAllister saying, “Let’s send somebody from the 5th district who speaks for us to help turn Washington around.”
