Well, while I don't think Fox covered the Christie story Wednesday night (I might have missed it in passing), they were all over it on Thursday night (every program I taped).

Or were they?  I'm a bit late to this party.  You folks knew about this scandal last week.  How did Christie not know about it ????

Gallup reports

"The percentage of Americans identifying their ideology as liberal edged up to 23% in 2013, a new high since 1992. More Americans, 38%, identified as conservative, but the 15-point conservative-liberal gap ties as the smallest to date."

Anyone hear from @Tero ?

Hope he's ok and I hope he comes back!

Wade Redden retires.

In the "dumbest contracts ever signed by the player" museum, his face is sitting on a pedestal somewhere.  He was a good trooper and played in the AHL as ordered for two seasons without saying a single thing to anybody, but totally doomed his career.

I love college sports, but good grief...something's messed up if we want to kill the very people we entrust to help them read and write.

Ooops. Fight cancelled. Two black holes.

@fitty_three, add me to the list of those concerned. I'm hoping it's something like lost internet/cable.

@fitty_three

I've been progressively getting more worried about him.  He disappeared during the ice storms in Toronto which absolutely destroyed the power grid and dozens died from the cold and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Looking forward to it. Should be a great game.

@forgottenlord

Hard to call that th e dumbest contract - though it's one. The other was Gomez for 7 mil a year.

Both were done by slats.

Makes ya wonder - after his golden era in Edmonton, what has he done?

The rangers are a team of superstars. And no chemistry. Unlike  the Oil during the 80's.

All Slats does is sign dumb contracts now.

I'm not much up on Canadian internal affairs (hockey), but what did this guy do to get locked in the basement for two years?

@nflfoghorn, the questions themselves were strange. Messy desk and dog or cat people? BTW, I have two desks at angles to each other. One is neat as a pin and the other looks like a junk drawer.

@Sue_N OT, I loved your post yesterday with the "ipso derpo" comment.

@mantisdragon91 Keep in mind that since her conviction was overturned she's innocent until proven guilty. So why's Corey treating her like a common criminal?? If the officers overseeing her house arrest say "OK, we'll let you go to the store" or "you can visit a family member" do you have to ask a judge for permission to do that??  Hearing's @ 9:00 Eastern tomorrow morning.  If the judge overseeing this doesn't throw out Corey's claim to revoke bail, it'd be an utter travesty of justice.

Because his wife needs serious psychiatric assistance on the subject of not rewarding the abuser.

I'm worried too - and unlike some here, i have no other way of contacting him. No Twitter or FB to fall back on.

Luckily, if he does, we have an open stadium.

But I don't think beans are in his diet;-)

@fitty_three

Guaranteed contracts + salary cap + 6 million/yr hit + loophole of burying players in the minors so they don't count against the cap + Glenn Sather is an idiot who doesn't know how to budget = expendable.

@nflfoghorn

Honestly, I don't know what she (Corey) is doing that.  It's almost as if she's trying to set Marissa up to be in a situation where she doesn't have a gun to defend herself the next time, which might get her killed.

What's she even doing about the conduct of her abuser, I'm afraid to ask?

@outsider, I think of many of the people on here like that too. I used to belong to a local forum board and we finally decided to all get together for a big cookout at a local park. We decided that nobody would introduce themselves and we'd just have to guess who was who. Over 30 people showed up and all but two matched me up to my screen name.

Ahh. I thought you were being cute.

Well that's good. That's what i did when i had to hit LA for two weeks. Let everyone know before hand.

It's funny how we operate here.

We are all family.

@outsider, I just meant that I was going to say I was leaving for a week or so before I took a break so that nobody would wonder.

It is telling. And you should get on both - if only so we can all find you if you go on hiatus!

Ivy's our resident link to one another. She's safe, everyone trusts her, and you can contact the rest of us through her.

That's what i did with Don, Sue, Ivy herself, and a few others more on twitter.

@outsider, I'm not on twitter or facebook either. I think it's a little telling that so many of us worry about people we've never met and aren't likely to ever meet. Liberal trait for sure.

I hope he does. This poor woman, man!

It's especially egregious given that it happened at the same time as Zimmerman.

I just can't believe Florida, Foggy. Sorry buddy - i know you aren't insane. But just the optics of this entire mess - she didn't kill anyone, fired a gun, in the air, to prevent herself from being physically abused, AGAIN, and they want to prosecute her!

This doesn't play well, no matter how you spin it. But they're going ahead to try and victimize her anyway.

WTF is in the water down there, buddy? Seriously - this, how you feel? That's kinda how the world sees the US.

Crazy, unpredictable, absolutely irrational, and completely ignorant of moral standards, while preaching to everyone else about how morally upright they are.

Thank Goodness we all know you're not like that.

But this is what the GOP is doing to the US, unfortunately.

Aside from most here, i have a lot of other American friends too - and i know you're all just as appalled as everyone else - the people who aren't fortunate enough to have American friends don't have that benefit, however.

And this is the kind of things that makes the news.

Internationally.

You guys really have to get rid of the GOP..

The feds?

This could gain traction as a violation of her constitutional rights. Maybe enough to not have to stick to a narrower civil rights issue.

Are they having a Miss Confederate Florida contest or something?  She looks like a fat Sarah Palin minus the red, so it can't be her looks that's keeping her in the running for the prize.

I did, but I was too busy being a mushroom.  My entire stock of motivation dribbled outside and soaked into the ground.

@fitty_three @nflfoghorn I'm sure you can guess.

Corey must be trying to make a name for herself but more and more people hate her guts.  Hope you saw what I posted yesterday about her.
