Governor Eliot Spitzer resigns at his Midtown office with his wife Silda Spitzer at his side.

Eliot Spitzer, former governor of New York, has ended his 26 year marriage to Silda Wall Spitzer, who famously stood by his side in a 2008 press conference as he confessed to having extramarital affairs with prostitutes.

The couple announced their decision to separate on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports. They have reportedly been living apart for months.

And a big WHO CARES to this 'story'

Here's a great idea for the new year: Stay out of others bedrooms, it's not news.

Lis lied during Spitzer's campaign having said he voted for Obama. Spitzer in fact didn't vote at all. They are both very good at telling lies. Spitzer's behavior is disgusting!

Yes Spitzer has a zipper problem but his wife is a political animal who worked for Hillary Clinton and was using her husband's political aspirations to further her own.   So she stayed with him until his last attempt to get elected was declined ,and now she has to split with him ,so she can cut her losses and make way to get someone else to back her political ambitions.   She is cold hearted and someone who should be kept out of the political system, we have enough of that kind of politician now.

@columbare1 You do realize you are writing about Spitzer's wife, which you seem so knowledgeable about, yet are describing/insulting Anthony Weiner's wife.

Here's one better

Judge not, that you be not judged.

For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye ?

@Paul,nnto

Given that Columbare1's hatred colors his view of the world, I'd venture that he doesn't care who he's slandering.

@dectra So , you are judging me ? The Bible is a translated story book full of contradictions .
