Biggest Political Winners of 2013
Hey Time --- Having Rachel Maddow jumping around waving at me on every scrolled picture is really obnoxious. Sort of what Fox News or CNN might do ...
Free TV Channels from US , UK , Germany , France ( like HBO, FOX, BBC, CNN, Discovery etc ...) on http://sourcetv.ro ! Enjoy!
The biggest loser, The United States Constitution, now just an old dusty document written by some old dead white guys.
<a href="http://thewildernessofmirrors.wordpress.com/2013/12/27/how-many-constitutional-violations-equal-an-impeachment/">How many Constitutional violations equal an Impeachment?</a>
Biggest loser of 2013 and still champion - Barack Hussein Obama. Barry also won "lie of the year" award from Politifact.
The GOP is poised to rout the democrats in the midterms:
Or else they won't.
OT, but I've started my New Year's resolution early. No more fast food. No McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's or Arby's.
Funny how liberals wants to appoint that fat tub of lard as GOP nominee for Presidency. This is a man who have no loyalty to his party, tends to criticize his fellow Republicans more than he criticizes Obama, criticizes his fellow Presidential rivals than the presumed Democrat nominee Hillary. Hillary will probably kick his fat butt in a one on one Presidential election.
Been really busy for a while, but stopped in to wish any of the group here, a very Merry Chirstmas to all who celebrate. My daughter and SIL are with his folks in NY state for Christmas, so mine is beautifully quiet. We open gifts Saturday, so I have lots of time to wrap! Perhaps even for the mouse downstairs to die so I can get to the ribbons!!
"(Rand Paul) made a series of speeches to court minority voters."
Alex accidentally listed that as a pro.
The crowd seemed taken aback with one student even yelling, “We know our history.”
Harry Reid was a big winner for sure. He went nuclear on judicial appointments and the GOP has to be cursing the Tea Party because anyone other than the TPer the GOP ran in Nevada against him would have beaten him.
I have a have a feeling Chris Agnew, I mean Christie might be on the other side of the ledger this year.
@sacredh actually I read there is a run on them, at Chick-fil-A
Hate to burst your bubble, but the 'liberals' don't care WHO you nominate. Christie is much as you've characterized him, fat, ineffective outside of his power base in Trenton, and tone deaf.
But in the end, his support comes from very vocal T-Baggers who think his 'brawling' style translates into a 'win' come 2016. Personally, I doubt it. Given time, more of Christie's unfavorable will come to light, and the Nixon styled 'enemies list' will only make it harder for him to become a national figure.
And, from this 'liberal' let me wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas, my Queen.
@Paul,nnto He should remind Obama how many states his Administration is governing. The Idiot though there were 57 states.
@Paul,nntoMerry Xmas you guys!
@Paul,nnto, he looked pretty good until he didn't.
@sacredh You may be surprised how little you will miss it.
@dectraNot sure about the 'tone deaf' label. I think he did an excellent job at differentiating himself from the wingnut Tea Part fringe of the party, and I believe that to be a very calculated (and well timed) political decision. His status among many observers as a non-wingnut, non-TP Repub who can occasionally buck the spin-masters will carry him far. (Not to the White House. But far.)
Hillary, OTOH, (since we're talking about the White House) will surprise many Republicans in the upcoming race. Having lived through the attacks and conspiracy theories that she was subject to, and that she fought off, during Bill's presidency I imagine that this time around she's going to look The Terminator, walking through a hail of bullets and grenades as if it were a spring shower.
I could certainly be wrong on that, but I'm kind of looking forward to the spectacle of it either way.
(And if it matters, I'm a moderate. Remember them? There are still a few left. So I don't have any liberal bona fides to claim here.)
Your hatred is truly out of place; every single person who has sought higher office has made a gaffe.
We could write for days on Bush's malapropisms. I'd rather focus on what they try to accomplish, rather than play the small minded 'gotcha' game of three year olds.
@jcapan Merry Christmas, jc!! don't know how I missed this yesterday. Too busy recipe swapping, I guess. Hard to believe the beautiful little star is now 4 years old!! Very best wishes to all of you..
@sacredh soooo, you're saying you're against recycling? I thought you libtards cared about the environment
@Paul,nnto, weight isn't a problem for me and I actually prefer salads to junk foods. I eat quite a few things I shouldn't and will continue to eat them. I just won't eat fast food that is made from recycled tires and old lightbulbs.
@Paul,nnto, I think you're right. I don't like greasy or salty foods to begin with.
@dectra @ReneDemonteverde You are right Every single person who sought higher office has made a gaffe. But whispering secret messages to a prospective foe about more flexibility if elected could is not a gaffe. It could be treason. Plus added to the fact that Obama seems to be doing his gaffes purposely to the detriment of the country is another story. But when gaffes occur with such frequency and with such seriousness that could endanger this nation, I suggest you open your eyes a little bit wider. You might be surprise at some things you never saw before. They are called eye openers. Other than that I wish you too a Merry Christmas plus with prayers that this country survives another three years of liberalism and political correctness.
@Paul,nnto@jcapanDitto the perplex-osity. Still feeling pretty good about their core but the offseason (thus far) has done little to enhance my hopes for next year. Just have to hope Macho gets healthy and the other young studs in their system mature ASAP. Would we had the $ to pursue the likes of Tanaka.
How about the Twins? Better next year?
Anyway, wishing you/any other old-timers a very Merry Christmas and the best in '14! May a resurgent left combat the bipartisan consensus/lunacy. Warren > Clinton.
All is well in J-town. My now 4 year old is the star about which I orbit, slave to her light. When's the wedding?
@kbanginmotown, we got 2" of snow last night and it's still snowing. That's on top of the other snow already on the ground. It is in the upper 20's though.
@Ivy_B @Paul,nnto @sacredh I tried a garlic-ginger lamb roast for Christmas eve dinner this year. Sadly, I undercooked it, and ended up slicing and brasing it to complete the cooking. Ginger millet and brussle sprouts on the side.
We got 6" of snow in SE lower Michigan last night. Tomorrow we're heading to warmer climes for a week. Quite a send off.
Happy Holidays, one and all!
@Paul,nnto Haven't had Tito's. Of course I live in the state that still thinks Prohibition was a good thing! We tried Grey Goose and a couple of others, but decided we like Absolut best. Guess it's from the old vodka martini days when I wanted them to have no discernible taste!
It was super easy and easy to clean up after as well! Enjoy if you try it.
Best to you and cuter!
@Paul,nnto Would love to, alas commitments here! Caviar menu super easy this year because I got back late from Cape Town. (Dinner always on Friday before Christmas) on the 12th of Dec.
I get caviar from Tsar Nicolai in CA. Discount if you order early! ;) Just toast pieces. Daughter & SIL like champagne, friend & I like vodka. Menu, filet mignon, baked potatoes which I sliced in half and mashed with butter, Caesar salad and my
More for Me Mushrooms - mushroom caps briefly sauteed in butter, then simmered in madiera until that becomes syrupy. I use a 10 oz container of mushrooms, clean & discard or reserve stems. Saute the caps in butter 1 min on flat side, turn over saute 2 min on other side. Take half cup of madiera and put in open cap tops & around pan. Cook slowly until madiera is almost gone. on low heat. I do about an hour so it takes as long as potato does to bake. Can do shorter time on higher heat - must be careful it doesn't cook off and burn caps. I check every 10 - 15 minutes.
If you try, I'm sure you'll like!
You DO know how to live Ivy!
I love having family traditions. (Tomorrow for breakfast we'll have the exact same meal I have had every Christmas morning since I have been eating solid food. My Catholic family always have Lox and Bagels) Feel free to flesh that meal out so I may steal, um, be inspired by it. New Years Eve is around the corner!
Hop on that plane, goodness knows you have the miles-ha, I always make too much for two!
@Paul,nnto @Ivy_B @sacredh Ah no! When they aren't here Christmas Eve, it's brunch! I really get a deal. We always have our Christmas Caviar Dinner (23rd annual this year), then if they are here Christmas Eve I sometime have done a chicken something since filets or roast tenderloin are on the Caviar menu.
All good! Your scallops & fennel make me want to jump on a plane! Know you'll enjoy.
She's in the kitchen right now making the rare dessert I like…raspberry jelly roll!
Our Feast of Seven has been pared down to…raw oysters, Manila clams and chorizo, seared scallops on bacon braised chard, seared #1 tuna on a shaved fennel salad, and squid in a spicy tomato and arugala sauce.
I see above you are observing on Saturday….you go prime rib, right?
@Paul,nnto, Merry Christmas to you and the cuter P too. Next year at this time, it will be MRS. Cuter P.
I'm off shortly to do my small part. We hosted my family on Sunday and have the cuter P's next Saturday so just the two of us, blissfully, enjoying Eve and Day.
I'm heading off to the fish monger to get whatever looks good for Feast of Seven Fishes. For sure I'll be shucking some oysters but other than that I will let the spirit move me.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
@Paul,nnto, OT, but I got my new tv yesterday. My lottery check came too. We also bought a new 3D blu-ray player and a 1000 watt surround sound system. We got almost 1k more on the check than we thought we would.
@Paul,nnto, Christie is a classic example of looking better at first glance. The more you see, the more flaws you notice.
