President Barack Obama pauses as he speaks about his signature health care law, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in the Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House in Washington.

Facing open revolt from members of his own party over the disastrous roll-out of his signature health care law, President Barack Obama apologized to congressional Democrats Thursday for “letting them down.”

“There is no doubt that our failure to roll out the [health care law] smoothly has put a burden on Democrats whether they’re running or not,” Obama said during a lengthy news conference at the White House, when asked about the political consequences of the error-filled insurance enrollement website and the unfulfilled promise that people can keep their health insurance if they like it.

Obama said he makes no apologies for making health care the center of his first-term legislative agenda. “But I do make apologies for not executing better over the last several months,” he said.

“I feel deeply responsible for making it harder for them, rather than easier for them, to continue to promote the core values that I think led them to support this thing in the first place,” Obama added. “When we don’t do a good job on the roll out we are letting them down. And I don’t like doing that.”

This Fraudulent One posing as President should apologize to the American people. They are the ones who will suffer. His party mates, I am sure have enough money to pay for their health bills. The Country is paying too much price for an unvetted man with sealed records just because it wants to elect a black man, with an excellent imitation of Al Green and speaks eloquently with a teleprompter. Now the country is eager to elect the first woman as President all because of her gender. Overlooking the fact that if Hillary could not manage a Department like State, how can she manage the whole country ? That plus the fact that her corrupt record and lies are kept hidden by the same corrupt media that have overblown Obama and his record. Never mind the accomplishment which was zero.

Time magazine and the corporate-owned media should apologize to the American people for failing to provide in-depth reporting on America's substandard healthcare systems whereby Americans pay far more than other large countries while getting less yet our healthcare providers, insurers, drug makers post the highest profits and American doctors, who pad bills, prescribe unnecessary and costly tests and procedures often received kick-backs from drug makers to also prescribe the most expensive drugs even when not FDA-approved for conditions, are the highest paid.

The GOP should apologize to the American people for deliberately blocking a national healthcare insurance program for over 60 years, for trying to water down and then repeal the ACA which already has improved health insurance coverage by reducing the abuses of excessive profits of the healthcare industry, expanding coverage to millions, allowing those with pre-existing conditions to be insured, to provide cost-saving preventive healthcare coverage that includes early cancer screening, vaccinations, birth control, etc., preventing policies to max-out coverage or the abuses that send two million Americans into bankruptcy each year because of overwhelming medical and hospital bills.

The GOP also should apologize for deliberately sabotaging the weak economy and jobs market which they mostly created and by hurting the country and job creation by over three million with a 2% reduction in GDP growth, blocking an all-time record of 430+ bills, blocked appointments, and unprecedented use of the 60-vote super majority filibusters to block legislative progress.

Congressional DEMOCRATS wrote OBAMACARE with NO input at all from Republicans.  Congressional DEMOCRATS AND The Obamaniac KNEW EXACTLY what was in the law because THEY WROTE IT !  How can Congressional Democrats, AND THE OBAMANIAC, now plausibly claim that "they didn't know what was in the law" ??? They WROTE IT ! And it's working exactly as the DEMOCRATS planned.

The disappointing beginning of universal health coverage in this country has become a cliche.  Hopefully, these glitches are temporary and will be repaired.

However, the impression left by all this is that the Obama administration -- after almost 5 years -- is not ready for prime time.  This, more than any specifics related to website mismanagement, is the real problem.

Early on, he had a problem because he actually thought the Republicans would deal with him for the good of the country.  He was, of course, wrong.  The GOP was only interested in hurting him and the Democrats.  We needed a huge jobs bill early on, and (according to Maureen Dowd) Obama listened to his wife and not his advisors, so he went light on the jobs bill and heavy on Obamacare.  The list goes on.

Before the Republicans rescued his image with their bungled shutdown and debt ceiling histrionics, the story of the summer was the administrations fumbling on Syria.

It's sometimes difficult to root for the inept Obama administration with its good intentions … until you realize that the alternative is the Republicans who stand for everything that is wrong with this country.  I'll still choose well-meaning bumblers, but I can see how some people prefer the evil GOP empire.

Lessons learned from Obamacare>Democratic President unable to manifest health care law into realization. Democratic Congress unable to help Democratic President which implies that the "blind is leading the blind". So in essence if the Democratic President along with his Congressional Democrats are incapable of implementing something as simple as this then what makes the populace think that Democrats are actually capable of governing anything on such a scale as the U.S.A. But to be fair to the others (Republicans)>Republican President along with a complete Republican Congress leads America into 2 wars, then hands out 2 tax cuts, and then hands out a big pharmaceutical Part D drug giveaway which also implies that the "blind are leading the blind". The moral of the story is that neither party is capable of doing anything proper for the country as long as there are 14,000+ lobbyists yanking them in all different directions. Also, when is the last time you can remember that these politicians accomplished something that we the voters can be proud of? They've accomplished their job of getting elected and reelected but nothing else. And each side thinks their side is right. Right? what a laugh.

That's one small step for a President, one giant fall for an arrogant man.

I hate that the website wasn't tested properly prior to going live, but I have to commend the President for actually taking responsibility.  I wish more politicians would admit when they have made mistakes or (god forbid) when they are actually wrong.

Losing ground with his own party, so sad for the liar. apologizing to his fellow libs, when he really needs to admit to the whole country he made a mistake, all he wanted to do was help his people. It did not work, and may never work during his time left in the Oval office. Its getting short for the lame duck. The Gop and Cristie and even Sarah are on their way to remove him for better qualified people. The President should be President for all Americans, not just the black ones.

@ThomasHall Finally, a comment that speaks volumes concerning the TRUTH that media outlets are too lazy to report.  They only wish to make everything into a pinball fight between Repubs & Dems while the rest of beg for our sanity regarding such! Your comment is 110% factual and spoken magnificently! Thank you for the breath of fresh air with your comment!

@FredCohan In your desire and haste to vote for the first incompetent black man to the Presidency, many of your peers overlooked that the GOP have a more experienced team in McCain and Palin. The effect of Obamacare will be miniscule with the threat of a nuclear war once Iran secure its nuclear weaponry.

timdmoss28

@FredCohan Oh cut it out!!! just bc ACA made insurers ACTUALLY SELL REAL HEALTH CARE POLICIES THAT PROVIDE CARE WHEN NEEDED, doesn't mean that he's disappointed anything.  He should be commended for doing something no Pres before has ever been able to do!! Go and get educated before you try to speak on the issues, otherwise you just sound foolish!!

ThomasHall

@FredCohan Vote for a GOP president like Nixon, Reagan, Bush I or Bush II all of which could have been impeached for illegal actions and lying under oath, obstruction of justice, etc. while creating the bulk of our National Debt, which was less than $800 billion through Carter. They also bear the lion's share of blame for the deregulated banks and the Phil Gramm legislation that enabled the subprime mortgage rich bankster fraud that took down Wall St. and our economy. The GOP also have caused nearly all of the hundreds of thousands of deaths and wounding of US-Coalition soldiers since Vietnam while their latest Bush-Cheney wars combined at 20+ years, based upon lies, arrogance, incompetence and greed, are projected to cost $6 trillion as the lifetimes of war bills and costly VA healthcare come in.

The ACA applies to 5% of Americans insured in the private sector while the GOP want to defend and promote the profiteering insurance companies and their junk insurance and want to kill the ACA which has already benefited millions while raising the bar on overall health insurance.

It took years to smooth out Medicare/Medicaid and even the GOP's Medicare Part D Rx drug entitlement giveaway to the drug makers, costing over $55 billion per year with a $2,000 "doughnut hole" for seniors now covered by the ACA, had problems starting up. No call by the GOP for its repeal and no real suggestion for actually improving the ACA or healthcare in general.

@Urbanitus Taking responsibility changes NOTHING. Five million Americans and growing are without their health insurance, AND WE ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE PAID FOR IT ALL OUR LIVES.  Makes a lot of sense.  TAKE IT FROM THOSE WHO PAY, and GIVE IT FREE TO THOSE WHO DON'T PAY! Because 4 X as many signed up for Medicaid! That's FREE and taxpayers pay for it!

@Openminded1 Sarah? the half term governor? ha-ha-ha-ha. Remove him for who? Any of the other half wits in Congress that aren't qualified to take out the trash! You better come up with something better than that. I feel Christie would make a good leader but with all the half wit republicans in Congress he'd go crazy trying to get anything of value accomplished.

@BobJan @Openminded1 Bob sarah was a joke ,i love getting a rise out of certain libs on here that are the true meaning of close minded and live and breath democratic politics with no other life. You are right, i think cristie would most likely tell the majority of republicans to shut up and the tea drinkers to take a hike.
