Obamacare Website to Go Down Saturday Night

For "extended maintenance"

Healthcare.gov, the marketplace and website used to sign up for health insurance, will be down for “extended “maintenance” Saturday night, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

The application, enrollment tools, and “data hub” will not be available from 9 p.m. ET until 9 a.m. ET Sunday. Customers can call a toll-free line to apply for insurance during those hours.

The Obama administration has come under fire for the numerous technical problems on the website since its launch on Oct. 1. Officials plan to have the website fixed by the end of November, hoping to enroll 7 million for insurance policies by the end of March.

How is it's "going down" on Saturday night different than it's normal "down" status?

Obamacare has NOTHING to do with healthcare! It is all about POWER!!!!

This Marxist, parasitic, traitorous, Chicago-thug like community organizer has never so much as run a taco stand.  He has never made a payroll, delivered a product, or met a schedule.  Never!!!!

But he is VERY, VERY good, and very well trained in grabbing power and making free meninto slaves.

This man is an extremely dangerous tyrant and feels he is above the law!!!!

Healthcare is a states' right, not an enumerated federal power, and should be left to the states where it can be done right as Obama promised in a sacred oath at inaugauration. (Tenth amendment)

I visited the site yesterday, and it is already miles beyond where it was just a few short weeks ago. In fact, pages were loading on my old clunky netbook faster than Amazon does. Those who are counting on its failure better have a backup plan.

@MichaelStephenson @JeffRen Thanks for enforcing my comment. Health care is in crisis. Lawyers, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, physicians, hospitals, the list goes on of the people who are getting filthy rich on the system that exists now that makes it un-affordable.. If you think any one of them is going to give anything up to help the crisis you need a lesson in human nature. Like it or not , government is the only entity with enough power to make laws and regulations that can change anything. Scary, yes.... Government notoriously screws up anything it gets involved with but better get used to the idea. We need to start somewhere, and if both sides worked together, it has a better chance. I don't care if the Republicans initiated the change, we need to start somewhere. I'm sure the Democrats would sound like you... happy for the failure of "the enemy". My point is that this has to stop, or we are indeed screwed.

I guess it is an improvement if they can choose when it goes down.  It was down at least a day and a half mid-week,

Get used to the stench Democrats... Obamacare is going to be decaying all around you for months to come.

The lies & scam of duhh-bama, he should be in jail...friggin SOCIALIST with No JOB EXPERIENCE I didn't vote for it.... Yes I'm a bit MAD about how he's lied to everyone & screwed up our country.  If you are not, then you need to take some time to look at the facts.

If half the country would have been part  making this operational instead of hoping this would fail.... there might have been an opportunity to get it up and running and see if any part of it would work... maybe yes, maybe no, maybe parts of it yes or no. This division in our government and the extremists will destroy us.

How can it go down when it has never really been up? The real problem is Obama and the Democrats are robbing the young people of America by forcing insurance companies to cancel any policies that don't meet what Obama calls standards, which is really a lie too. What he calls standards is forcing young single men to pay for maternity and pre-natal care and young women to pay for prostrate surgery, for example. Young people's deductables are going up into the thousands of dollars and their monthly paymenst are doubling and tripling. It is another socialist wealth transfer from working people to non-productive people and illegal aliens. Obama and the Democrats have already robbed the elderly by cutting Medicare by $500,000,000. The only people that are making out on this are the drugged, the drunk, and the lazy. It is time the young folks realize the only group trying to save them from the dictatorial socialist Democrats and Obama, is the TEA Party. Boycott Obamacare. The IRS can't collect the fine unless you have a tax return coming. We as a people can dump Obamacare.

The website is not the problem. Obamacare is the problem. Policy cancellations, sticker shock, cost overruns, union exemptions, Medicare cuts, etc. All part of Obamacare by design, but few bothered to read the 10,535 pages of the bill. Nor would they listen to those who did.

It's like saying i'm counting on the brakes to go out on a car with no gas left in the tank. The website could work flawlessly, the exchange system is flawed and cannot work. Simple actuarial truth.

Laughing at the fact that they can't even get a website functioning at basic 2005 levels with a 90 million+ budget is just comic relief in this tragedy.

@JeffRen @MichaelStephenson Government screwed up my military health care in childhood and as an adult so much that I'm healthy, wealthy and wise.

Good enough for the military yet not good enough for Congress and the American people?    I have no complaints with  military health care and have every reason to believe that we can get this right - just like other countries have managed to get it right.

@JeffRen Or if the website had been honestly and competently designed by the Democrats who were in charge.

It is exceedingly poor cognition for the first phrase of your keyboard to be about Republicans.   This is about deceit and arrogance from Obama on down. They will pay for it.

We are all paying for the uninsured today. At least with the ACA, everyone is expected to participate since no one is immune from accident or disease.

And as for paying for natal or maternity care, again,we all do anyway in the form of higher hospital costs.

And I've never heard any woman complain that her health insurance covers testicular or prostate cancer, yet virtually all real policies do.

@mary.waterton He was reassuring those who have decent policies thru their employers that the ACA wouldn't force them off their employer-provided healthcare policies - and it won't.

@mary.waterton Mary, when Obama made that comment he wasn't addressing you.   He didn't precede it with "Listen, you idiots", did he.

So its up to the gov to decide whether our insurance is decent or not? Next I guess they'll be telling us what to eat, what we can drive, where we set our thermostats, how we rear our children, how we defend our loved ones and property...

@JeffRen @MichaelStephenson This article is about the website going down, Einstein; you led with your complaint about Republicans because you're just another two-bit lefty propagandist.  Try adding some clarity for a change.
