With a gospel choir backing him, satirical news host Jon Stewart responded — with a bit of profanity — to Fox News’ message that his jokes about Obamacare are proof that the law isn’t working.
I find myself agreeing with those who question whether the word "news" should be used in the same sentence as "Fox." Over the years, Fox News unequivocably seeks to manipulate weaker minds. I first noticed when Fox would flash Anna Nicole's boobs, then Republican mantra, then Anna Nicole, and repeat. I find a complete lack of objectivitiy, replaced with overt divisive commentary, designed to further the interests of a select few. Propoganda has been around for as long as media has existed. Fox should simply tell the truth and allow the public to think for itself. Has not done so, and will never do so. The one thing I have noticed over the years is that the one thing groups fear the most, is truth. Reason being....what can you say in response to the truth? Nothing, say it again, absolutely nothing. And, rather than address/respond to the truth, Fox News and its adherents attack the speaker, calling him/her all sorts of vile names, innuendos and things of the genre. It is difficult, if not impossible, to debate issues of the day when the only response you receive is emotional vitriole. This is a bad example for our youth. Open, accurate and respectful debate should be the order of the day, not the method chosen by Fox News, Karl Rove and their minions. Larry
A 9 yr old kid at Disney World replied when I asked him if he knew about the Presidents of the U.S. he replied with hideous anger, "OBAMA!" Everyone on the bus looked at his parents with dismay and disgust.
Propaganda station like Fox began in 1938 in Germany. They spread their propaganda by telling young Germans that their money is being stolen from them by the Jew store owners. The German President kept the propaganda machine going saying these store owners should be deported and were not pure Germans. Young German teens started to damage these Jewish businesses. We should learn from history.
Fox just agreed and gave proof that John is right 100% of the time. Maybe FOX should get the hint themselves.
I would argue that everything one could say about Fox could also be said about MSNBC. Both are just right and left versions of propagandist materials benefiting the failing duopoly.
Actually, that wasn't his point. His point was that his derision shouldn't be used as proof that the target of your choice is so ridiculous that it needs to be thrown out.
As opposed to this corrupt democrat political "comedian's" silence on his media ilk like MSNBC, CNN, PBS.....
A great case of how one show can be insightful and make fun of EVERYTHING vs. having a channel and people who seem to only pick signs. Stewart makes fun of anything worthy.. its just sad that the GOP has been so hilarious for the last decade he's been able to make a career out of them.
@Discursions Stewart ain't nobody's shill.
@oknahs oh the distortions. get your horizontal hold fixed.
@oknahs Yes, having even one station not a huge fan of your leader is JUST LIKE Nazi Germany, which also suffered from the horror of having a news outlet that didn't worship the leader. Until the government took care of those terrible fake journalists who weren't supporting the regime. Why can't our leaders do the same to outlets that don't say what the party wants them to say!
@mantisdragon91 I wish all news outlets agreed that our Leader is terrific, and I wish somehow we could shut down any channel or newspaper or radio program that doesn't acknowledge his greatness.
@mantisdragon91 The same reason we consider other propaganda channels like al-Jazeera and MSNBC to be news.
@KevinRoberts It is more like Conservatives feeling dirty because the Daily Show talking head is agreeing with them.
@KevinRoberts Yes, no one could be right once in a while. That never happens.
@landonthegr8 Try, CNN is more or less the Fox of the Left. MSNBC is beyond the pale.
It really is the lying that separates them.
@landonthegr8 You would lose that argument. Fox News exists solely for the purpose of electing Republicans. They deliberately lie and deliberately try to fool their base (which mainly happens to be old people - even Meghan hasn't managed to pull in the 18 to 54 age group). They actively supported and pushed the Tea Party movement. The Republican Party would be a stronger party today if Fox News had never existed - it has ruined the party I used to vote for.
I only watch Chris Hayes and Maddow, but the difference between Hayes/Maddow and Hannity/O'Reilly is night and day (and quite a few college degrees).
He bash any type of milquetoast Media hustlers. He want them to offer news, not punditry.
@firmsoil Probably not a good idea to comment on a show you CLEARLY do not watch.
@firmsoil ??? He bashes MSNBC and CNN and PBS and the History Channel etc etc.ALL of the time.. Its a smart show for smart people so it is understood that a certain "ilk" dont watch. Its like a rodeo. Some people live for them, some people dont understand how they still exist....
@aztecian No, FAUX News Comedy Network.
Like biased democrat Mr. Stewart's, your support (as in not) of this non-democrat's first amendment rights shows. Thanks for the display of your liberal's tolerance.
These so called "smart show smart people" are the one's who have the government religion belief system that conscripting young healthy people to the world's most expensive pharma/drug/hospital industrial complex is "Affordable Care" that provides "Minimum Essential Coverage".
On one hand there is Fox.
On the other hand there is MSNBC, CNN, PBS, Democrat hosts/anchors on all three Major Network News Sunday Press Shows (Clinton Staffer George Stephanopoulos on ABC, California Liberal Democrat David Gregory on NBC, Bob Schieffer Liberal Democrat on CBS), etc etc.
Yeah the bias ratio clearly shows!
P.S. - The next time you open your eyes and look up at the sky you might just see all of the colors of the rainbow there.
@firmsoil @Mr.Wallingford Okay, first of all, why would you presume liberal tolerance in the face of conservative intolerance? I mean, really, fair is fair. If you're going to be intolerant, isn't being intolerant acceptable to everyone else in some measure?
Secondly, Stewart has consistently lampooned BOTH political parties. He has a liberal bias, but can anyone with any modicum of perspective assert that Fox DOESN'T??
FOX REPEATEDLY USED AN ENTERTAINER AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHY THE ACA IS BAD!!!! Even the brain dead can't possibly call that "fair and balanced", let alone UNBIASED.
Okay, I get it that you can't possibly accept any other perspective that may disagree with yours. You're not emotionally or mentally capable of understanding that your point of view MAY have been influenced by those with a strong financial and power interested in making sure you are screwed, blued and tattooed as long as you obediently toe a political line. Of course, the liberals do the same thing, but YOU can't even remotely integrate the slightest possibility that rightists do the SAME THING????
I mean, wow... I know rightists have an altered sense of reality (which is known in psychological circles as clinical delusion), but jeez... That logic is so patently obvious, and your denial of reality is so great, that I seriously doubt you and I could agree on what color the SKY IS. I say it's blue. That the hell do YOU think it is? RED?
@firmsoil "intolerant" yells the guy using the phrase "obama hussain jizya tax". Too funny.
Wow an entire parade of Obamacare liberal religious believers is out to get this one puny infidel (with personal name calling abound to display their intolerant culture proudly!). This speaks volumes about how biased the majority of people are who comment on time.
No wonder non-believers like me will have to pay obama hussain jizya tax soon now.
@firmsoil If you weren't a whiny, right-wing, paranoid loon who has learned everything he thinks he know about liberals from Limbaugh and FOX, you'd know that real liberals have had a truck with Stewart's non-partisanship (when it was deserved) in the past. And that by engaging you in a political debate no one is disrespecting your 1st Amendment rights.
Bull-Dung. Europe and Canada are cutting back. Duh.
Like an (Obamacare) addict first begin by admitting that you are one, the rest will easily follow from there.
If you study human health, you already know that americans are addicts to this destructive pharma/drug/industrial complex.
A wise man (Bernard Shaw) once said "It is not the fault of our doctors that the medical service of the community, as at present provided for, is a murderous absurdity."
Actually he wants universal healthcare. You know a proven affordable solution to our healthcare needs.
