Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton waves as she arrives at the 67th the United Nations General Assembly, at U.N. headquarters on Sept. 25, 2012.

Hillary Clinton is stepping up her political activity and raising Hollywood cash, but it’s not for herself in 2016 — it’s for longtime friend and Virginia gubernatorial hopeful Terry McAuliffe

Clinton will hold a $15,000-per-ticket fundraiser for McAuliffe at the Beverly Hills home of media mogul Haim Saban on Oct. 30, Deadline reports. Clinton has said she’ll start thinking seriously about another presidential run next year, but face time with Hollywood bigwigs can only help grease the fundraising wheels for her own campaign if she decides to mount one. Notables including Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams have pledged to support her.

The former secretary of state and first lady will also make her first public appearance on behalf of McAuliffe on Saturday, Politico reports, with a “Women for Terry” event in Falls Church, Va.

McAuliffe, a former Democratic National Committee chairman, is holding a steady but modest lead over Republican state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
