The highest court in the U.S. will not delay its sacred duties because of the federal government’s budgetary impasse. On Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court said they would return to work on Monday to hear scheduled oral arguments.
“I have a deal with the Congress,” said Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia during a speaking engagement earlier this week at Tufts University. “I leave them alone. They leave me alone.”
According to a report in Politico, the court will hear arguments concerning a case about age discrimination and a securities fraud class action. There are six cases scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court next week.
