President Barack Obama gestures while speaking in the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington about the government shutdown

Thanks to the government shutdown, President Obama is shortening his trip to Asia, skipping Malaysia and the Philippines.

He called the Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak and Philippine President Baenigno Aquino III to tell them he would travel to their countries later this term, USA Today reports.

Obama is scheduled to leave Saturday night for two Asian economic summits—one in Indonesia and one in Brunei. That plan could still change.

“We continue to evaluate those trips based on how events develop throughout the coure of the week,” Caitlin Hayden, a spokeswoman for the National Security Council, said.

and now he's going to go into hulk mode because nothing makes obama angry like not being able to travel on the tax-payers' dime, and we won't like him when he's angry. although anyone with half a brain already doesn't like him, and those who do like him have his member so far down their throats they can't even come up for air to see how crappy he actually is at running this country (unless you count polarizing the 2 parties and increasing the racial divide to be good things, in which case he's doing a great job), so i guess it's a non-issue
