Ruth Bader Ginsburg will officiate at a same-sex marriage ceremony Saturday, becoming the first Supreme Court justice to conduct the rite she helped protect in court earlier this year.

Ginsburg will lead the Washington, D.C. wedding between close friend Michael Kaiser, president of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and economist John Roberts (no relation to the Supreme Court Chief Justice), the Washington Post reports.

This summer, Ginsburg was in the majority in two Supreme Court decisions hailed as victories for gay marriage, including one that struck down the federal government’s right to restrict marriage to heterosexual unions. Same-sex unions have been legal in the District of Columbia since 2010.
