- Egyptian soldiers and police guarding a military building opened fire on supporters of the ousted president Mohammed Morsi Monday in bloodshed that claimed at least 40 lives, the single biggest death toll since massive protests forced Morsi’s government from power. After the shootings, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood urged Egyptians to rise up against the military.

- The investigation into the cause of the Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash that killed two and injured dozens might look relatively straightforward, but the the National Transportation Safety Board process will take months, if not years, to complete. The plane was flying far below its intended landing speed and on the verge of stalling before the aircraft clipped the sea wall and slammed into the runway.
- President Barack Obama has signed just 15 bills into law so far in 2013. By the time a similarly divided Congress broke for the Fourth of July two years ago, the number was 23.

Al Gore, 'Inconvenient Truth' Author And Global-Warming Expert, Talks About Change
See, even the HoPo believes that Al Gore knows what he's talking about. The front man for the biggest scam in history, Al Gore global warming expert. Sorry, I can't type that without stopping to laugh.
Before I leave for the evening, I'd like to provide a cautionary tale. When I first started to embrace liberalism, I started reading reading books that didn't have pictures or pop-ups. I started eating salads. I found myself bathing everyday (even on days I didn't smell funny). I would think even when I didn't have to. Please, don't let this happen to you. Watch Fox.
Hawks fan or...?
Consensus on man made global warming is proven to be another alarmist lie. The alarmists are desperate to save themselves, after they were caught in the biggest scam in history.
31,487 American scientists have signed this
including 9,029 with PhDs
If the alarmists were real scientists, they wouldn't need to lie and cheat. So, that just makes them liberals.
Misleading the public about consensus opinion regarding global warming, of course, is precisely what the Cook paper sought to accomplish. This is a tried and true ruse perfected by global warming alarmists. Global warming alarmists use their own biased, subjective judgment to misclassify published papers according to criteria that is largely irrelevant to the central issues in the global warming debate. Then, by carefully parsing the language of their survey questions and their published results, the alarmists encourage the media and fellow global warming alarmists to cite these biased, subjective, totally irrelevant surveys as conclusive evidence for the lie that nearly all scientists believe humans are creating a global warming crisis.
These biased, misleading, and totally irrelevant “surveys” form the best “evidence” global warming alarmists can muster in the global warming debate. And this truly shows how embarrassingly feeble their alarmist theory really is.
75 replies out of over 10,000 unscientific ONLINE questionnaires does not make a "concensus." It does make you look stupid.
Obama and his ambassador, Patterson did pick a side, and they picked another loser: Morsi.
Don't buy coastal land or your decendents will have to develop gills. Ocean water is rising, regardless of those lawmakers in NC who are standing in the surf commanding the oceans not to rise. Melting sea ice doesn't cause a rise of significance but the Iceland and Greenland ice caps on dry land will raise it, regardless of what ahand thinks. Nature is a bitch that way!
@sacredh Did liberalism embrace you back, or just leave you limp and wet?
I now see the error of my ways.
Horrors of horror. Did you develop a sense of humor? Develop original thought? Realize other people might think differently from how you do?

@ahandout Does misspelling "consensus" make you look stupid?
@ahandout Yet again with the idiocy? Remind us again who did the Egyptians elect two years ago?
When your "logic" fails to match the facts, the Teaharsd go find a video that one of them photoshopped. George Bush must be very proud of his program to bring Democracy to the Middle East. It is working so well. President Obama is doing what he should be doing, working behind the scenes to get the military to stop the shooting and get a civilian government in place. I am sure President Bush would have made some crappy comment by now in his flight suit.
@roknsteve I would use crayons for you, rokn, but you still wouldn't get the picture. So watch another video.
@ARTRaveler The sea levels have been rising since the end of the last ice age. We managed to deal with it.
I was embraced like I'd never been embraced before. Liberlism is like good sex, you just can't get enough. You go to sleep thinking, "I'm going to do this tomorrow too".
Not only that, I started thinking, "Maybe I should mind my own business and let other people lead their own lives". I even realized that some people had every right to think that the Grateful Dead was a good band.
The Hockey Stick graph hasn't actually been discredited, just superceded. Multiple tests through a variety of different methods have demonstrated the same general pattern - including one run by and funded by a group of climate change skeptics who, over the course of studying the data, became convinced by the science. It's somewhat like how Arrhenius developed theories about how acids work by focusing on the hydrogen ion concentration but people asked him "well what about things like ammonia, how does that generate a pH level" and he went "I don't know" only later to be superceded by the concept of OH ion concentrations and water equilibrium which embraced Arrhenius's theories and extended them with a theory that covered all possibilities. Also, we could go with Newtonian physics and how it breaks down at the sub atomic level and how quantum physics have superceded Newtonian physics. The history of science is a history of incomplete theories - half right and half undiscovered covering progressively more cases and greater understanding.
Climate Science is insanely young. It took us 30 years to go from knowing how to split the atom to being able to actually use it at Hiroshima. That doesn't make it wrong.
The problem with Al Gore's argument is the fundamental idea that CO2 inherently leads temperature changes. That's false. History has demonstrated that CO2 levels follow temperature changes, not the other way around.
However, for the first time in known history, CO2 levels are actually leading temperature changes. Humans are having a non-negligible effect on CO2 levels in the atmosphere - this is an indisputable fact as we can show a clear pattern of rapidly increasing levels of CO2.
Everything else is about energy. We know that energy is bled back into space at a fixed rate relative to planetary temperature with black body radiation. We know that incoming radiation from the sun can be reflected or absorbed and that reflected radiation is eliminated from the equation while absorbed radiation must be balanced out with black body radiation for a net zero effect on the planet. We know that, without human intervention, Earth should have a net negative result from that equation - more energy should leave the planet than be added through absorption (the planet is progressively cooling and historical temperature levels have gradually been dropping). We know that CO2 has a greenhouse effect to it - this is proven on small scales and should scale to global environments (especially since we can see that Venus is heavily suffering from it - though its concentration levels are insane and way beyond anything we could generate here on Earth). We also know, from things like the Great Oxygenation Event that the planet has incredible sinks that help stabilize major changes in the environment but that once these sinks are used up, we have explosive growth in the area that had previously been somewhat stable.
And yes, we also know that Earth might've gone through as many as three so-called Snowball Earth periods where just about the entire planet would've been frozen, even though the planet has generally lost energy over time.
There's a lot to question about the science. A s*** ton of pieces that are worth investigating and reading and trying to understand. But that doesn't mean that the science is wrong. Science has always been about people asking "well then, why does this happen?" and trying to understand it. Are there scientists that violate that fundamental method? Absolutely. But, as with all fields, the vast majority are well meaning and good people looking to do the right thing.
If you want to reply to me, do it on today's MMR.
@forgottenlord @ahandout Stephen Hawking believes in ET and man made global warming. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/25/stephen-hawking-aliens_n_551035.html#s84595title=Charlie_Rose_
The IPCC "scientists" tossed out their original data, made data up and came up with a hockey stick graph that has been discredited. These scientists don't want discussion or skeptics; they want consensus. That's not science.
There is very little correlation between CO2 and warming past 200 ppm in the atmosphere. That is why the computer predictions failed.
The earth has had levels of CO2 as high as 5000 ppm and the climate did not spin out of control, leading to higher and higher temperatures. The history of earth's climate had already debunked the CO2 theory.
If I accepted that everyone was an expert who claimed to be an expert, The Daily Show would be the biggest collection of knowledge that ever existed.
The power to claim expertise in a field comes not from ones personal boasts of knowledge but rather the respect granted by others. I don't go to US Senators for knowledge on Physics no matter how much they claim to know, I go to Stephen Hawking and other published physicists who have had their work reviewed by others and have been lauded as knowing what the f--- they're talking about. By the same token, I do not go to Al Gore for climate science, I go to actual published scientists who's work has been peer reviewed, and in the vast majority of cases, verified by multiple others using a variety of different methods.
That's your argument? Keep trying.
Climate Scientists agree that Al Gore is an idiot, which is why we ignore people who think the best argument against climate science is to criticize Al Gore. Al Gore hasn't been relevant since 2005 and even then, he was only relevant because his movie got people from 0% understanding to....10%.
