For all you do, we thank you, Barry.

Thanks to the growing IRS scandal and governmental discrimination of conservative groups, the Tea Party approval rating jumped 14 points since January. Today 44% of voters have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party compared to 44% who don’t.
Rasmussen reported:

Favorables for the Tea Party have jumped since news broke that the Internal Revenue Service was targeting the grassroots movement and other conservative groups.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 44% of Likely U.S. Voters now have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party. That’s up 14 points from January but still down from April 2009′s high of 51% when the Tea Party protests against President Obama’s spending policies first erupted.

Forty-four percent (44%) also now view the Tea Party unfavorably, although that’s down five points from earlier this year. The latest findings include 18% with a Very Favorable opinion of the movement and 25% with a Very Unfavorable one. Thirteen percent (13%) are undecided.

Tea Party groups are also seeing a spike in interest and donations since news broke that the Obama IRS harassed and abused over 500 groups.

More evidence #StopRush has failed

"Rush Limbaugh’s distributor on Thursday said there is no denying the  conservative radio host’s controversial comments about Sandra Fluke hurt  advertising last year — but 2013 is apparently a whole different ballgame.

This year, Limbaugh is drawing new advertisers and recovering well after the  major boycott he faced in response to his broadcasts on Fluke, Premiere Radio  senior vice president and director of talk radio sales Dan Metter told the  Talkers New York 2013 conference.

There was certainly a dramatic impact on the advertising sales in the wake of  Limbaugh’s comments, Metter noted, but he said that just drove the company to  find new sources of ad revenues.

Metter, who repeatedly referred to the advertising boycott of Limbaugh as simply  “the challenge,” said Premiere, a subsidiary of Clear Channel Media, focused its  efforts on getting ads on air from entrepreneurial-based companies not handled  by major ad agencies, such as LifeLock and LegalZoom."

This will be a heart breaker for the hive mind libs at Swampland.

'Real GDP growth — the value of goods and services produced after adjusting for inflation — is 15.4% below the 3% growth trend of past recoveries, wrote Edward Leamer, director of the UCLA Anderson Forecast. More robust growth will be necessary to bring this recovery in line with previous ones.

“It’s not a recovery,” he wrote. “It’s not even normal growth. It’s bad.” '

And speaking of Ted Cruz's best buddy, Glenn Beck.....

Glenn Beck: Michelle Obama a 'Monster'

Discussing Michelle Obama’s confrontation with a GetEqual protester on his show today, Glenn Beck referred to the First Lady as a “monster,” “Lady MacBeth” and “a frightening woman.” He even claimed that the First Lady, Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett and Eric Holder’s wife Sharon Malone, whose name he didn’t seem to know but like Obama and Jarrett is also African American, are the real powers behind the Obama administration.

“I’ll tell you something, I really truly believe, Valerie Jarrett, Michelle and Mrs. Eric Holder, that’s where the information is going, the wives are talking,” Beck said.

Speaking of Ted Cruz (R- Tea Party Lunatics)...

While speaking to Glenn Beck earlier today, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) maintained that UN Ambassador nominee Samantha Power, best known for her human rights advocacy, “grovels” before dictators. Beck called Power, whom he referred to as “Powers,” as an “extraordinarily dangerous person” and accused her husband Cass Sunstein, who formerly led the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, of directing the IRS to target conservatives.

Cruz called Power “extreme” and “far outside of the mainstream,” and said that she and other “left-wing academics” appointed by Obama consistently “grovel before tyrants like Castro in Cuba and North Korea.”

Of course, just hanging out with Glenn Beck is enough to question someone's sanity.

The Reagan Legacy

The 1980s saw pervasive racial discrimination by banks, real estate agents and landlords, unmonitored by the Reagan administration. Community groups uncovered blatant redlining by banks using federal Home Mortgage Disclosure Act information. But Reagan’s HUD and justice departments failed to prosecute or sanction banks that violated the Community Reinvestment Act, which prohibits racial discrimination in lending. During that time, of the 40,000 applications from banks requesting permission to expand their operations, Reagan’s bank regulators denied only eight of them on grounds of violating CRA regulations.

By the end of Reagan’s term in office federal assistance to local governments was cut 60 percent. Reagan eliminated general revenue sharing to cities, slashed funding for public service jobs and job training, almost dismantled federally funded legal services for the poor, cut the anti-poverty Community Development Block Grant program and reduced funds for public transit. The only “urban” program that survived the cuts was federal aid for highways – which primarily benefited suburbs, not cities.

These cutbacks had a disastrous effect on cities with high levels of poverty and limited property tax bases, many of which depended on federal aid. In 1980 federal dollars accounted for 22 percent of big city budgets. By the end of Reagan’s second term, federal aid was only 6 percent.

The consequences were devastating to urban schools and libraries, municipal hospitals and clinics, and sanitation, police and fire departments – many of which had to shut their doors.

Reagan is lauded as “the great communicator,” but he sometimes used his rhetorical skills to stigmatize the poor. During his stump speeches while dutifully promising to roll back welfare, Reagan often told the story of a so-called “welfare queen” in Chicago who drove a Cadillac and had ripped off $150,000 from the government using 80 aliases, 30 addresses, a dozen social security cards and four fictional dead husbands. Journalists searched for this “welfare cheat” in the hopes of interviewing her and discovered that she didn’t exist.

4500 dead Americans and Trillions wasted. And yet its the IRS checking whether or not Tax Exempt status  of Political Shell organizations is real that GOP wants us to be angry about.

It's all good. After all, climate change is a hoax and there's nothing to worry about.

US forest service chief says hotter, drier conditions mean wildfire season lasts two months longer than it did 40 years ago.

Climate change was a key driver of those bigger, more explosive fires. Earlier snow-melt, higher temperatures and drought created optimum fire conditions.

Human factors were also important. Americans have increasingly been building homes in areas where fire had been part of the natural landscape.

“This is a product of having a longer fire season, and having hotter, drier conditions so that the fuels dry out faster. So when we get a start that escapes initial attack, these fires become explosive in that they become so large so fast that it really limits our ability to do anything.”

The forest service is predicting an active fire season for 2013 in the south-west, as well as California, Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

@ahandout Than the NRA should be sending him checks like they do to all the GOP politicians they buy.

With All of His Advertisers Gone, Rush Limbaugh Becomes A Right Wing Welfare Bum

“Rush Limbaugh’s syndicator, Premiere Radio Networks, is the single largest independent contractor to the Heritage Foundation according to their latest 990 filing with the IRS, receiving $2,236,555 from the think tank. With advertisers fleeing his show, and as a result radio companies suffering major losses, the fiscal sponsorship of the conservative movement is now fiscally critical…Without wingnut welfare, which has also included sponsorships from FreedomWorks, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity’s shows would not be financially viable.”

Lifelock and LegalZoom, two more companies that prey on people being scared.  Moving their ads from the really cheap overnight slots on cable  muist have included steep discounts from rather small accounts already.  "Entrepreneurial-based companies" means small mom-and-pop non-national companies.  Have they explored seed companies for the farmers in the south?  May as well play to the FAUX base of older white men.

Can you imagine how far the country would be ahead if the Republicasn actually worked with the Democrats and the Presidents to create jobs?  Infrastructure is falling apart and all we can hope for in the current situation is that the House elevator falls or gets jammed between floors for 6 years.

ARTRaveler
ARTRaveler

What do you expect when you have a political party that doesn't give a damn about the people of the country and wants the country to fail or they would actually do something for jobs except talk it to death in campaigns and then do nothing for 3 years.  Why do Republicans hate Americans?

@paulejb And what did he say about what happened in 2008? Was that a normal fiscal collapse?

That was the quarterly re-approval by the court of the Bush action that started in 2007.  The House and Senate could have cancelled the Patriot Act but are too scared of being called soft on terrorism so it got renewed with out any changes to the original Bush administration wire-tapping Predator screening of all calls, emails, and massive review of call histories.

Hell, Paulie, your hero, Georgie Bush started the record grabs in 2007 under the Patriot Act. Don't like it, tell yopur senator and representative if they will listen to you.

A new Senatator for only 5 months with zero record of accomplishment except for a mouth that shows his brain isn't fully developed, a la, Sarah Palin, plays to the unintelligent with insults.  I assume that Cruz would kick dictators m in their shins?  Someone buy this guy a ticket to Cuba so he can show us how it is done.  we won't miss him fro teh next 30 years.  He is certainly showing himself to be GOTP presidential material (of course, there is teh matter of being born in Canada).  Go Cruz!  Bet you can carry 13 states (the crazy south).

Well, paulie,  Bush2 didn't quarter British soldiers in Americabn homes but broke every other one.  That is the basis of what Preseint Obama continued because everytime he tries to fix the situation, the scarity cat John McCain and his little brother from SC start crying and get all the desks in the Senate wet.

"Scientists Baffled as Report Proves Global Warming Has Stopped"

'In a report released by Spiegel science journal, the admission that the world has been waiting for for a long time is now here: Global Warming has stopped! Spiegel journalist Axel Bojanowski writes “The word has been out for quite some time now that the climate is developing differently than predicted earlier”. He poses the question: “How many more years of stagnation are needed before scientists rethink their predictions of future warming?” '
