Perry can't remember 3 items in a practiced public debate but its ok to let him have a weapon.

Not one headline on LIB TIME mag regarding the Benghazi coverup.  What's up, Obama not telling you to pretend to be unbiased and balanced?  Yellow Magazine.

So he basically just performed a long-range chicken abortion, right?

So if the news correspondent could shoot the egg too, how much skill was actually involved?

"Our message to the American people is there is still a place that loves freedom in America- that place is called, Texas!" -@GovernorPerry

That plant in West, Texas was just loving their freedom to level the town through negligence.

Assuming the egg was not fertile, squashing a small poor spider for thrills is exponentially more evil.

So Governor Perry is armed and ready to take on the oppressive government.

Has anyone pointed out to him that he is the government?

"Governor Perry which three eggs would you like to shoot?"

"Well I will tell you, it is three eggs when I get there that are gone. Chicken, Duck, and the....What's the third one there? Let's see."

@lelandwi11iams The people who died in 9/11 and the 12 attacks on US embassies during GWB's watch thank you for your concern. You were concerned then weren't you?

I swear, if you GOPers keep getting outraged over a total fluff piece like this, you'll die off quicker than your base is expected to!

Why don't you go play in the freeway and leave the discussion to the adults.

Is it really the same as a "hole in one?" When you get it on your first try?

@gysgt213 Funny think about that plant because of Texas regulations it was only required to carry a million dollars in insurance. So guess who will be stuck paying for all the damage and medical bills?

...and of course, the victims didn't die in vain.  Their sacrifices to the cause of dereggulation will be rememblurred.

@pcwag33

I don't really think either actions were evil.  If Christie had specifically brought out a spider for the sole purpose of killing it, that would be evil.  Instead, he happened to find a pest on his desk and killed it and it just so happened that cameras were rolling and students were sitting there.  Really, when was the last time you didn't kill the spider because it was a living thing.  Perry was just showing how a responsible gun owner uses an assault rifle.  I can respect that.  I disagree that he needs it - he'd be better off with a shotgun for defense - but I can understand and respect why people who own or just use assault rifles responsibly and just want to own one for the joy of using it would feel slighted at the idea that they should be restricted.  Neither action was evil.  Not every action can really be classified on a good and evil scale.

@pcwag33

Evil is good and good is evil right?  Same with greed, right?  That's good too.

 You are really reaching, teabagger.

The track record for gun owners shows that there is a good chance he will take himself out.

By the way, Rick, I actually don't fear guns. I fear dangerous people who possess guns.

@mantisdragon91 It will be interesting to see if the insurance even pays.  If the plant didn't follow the rules of the policy they may not.

I practice catch and release on big spiders, I ignore the small ones.  They are beneficial and harmless.  If it were a stinkbug, have at it.

@pcwag33 @forgottenlord  The story goes tahat when David was on the run from Abimelech he ducked into a cave. Behind him a spider continued spinning its web.  When the king came along tracking David he sent a servant to look in the cave, and the servant saw the cobweb and reported back that nobody could possibly have entered.  And killing spiders has been sort of a quasi-Biblical no-no ever since.

That spiders kill flies, which in turn are dangerous to humans, that's just gravy.
