, Miami went into San Antonio without Wade, James or Chalmers. Bosh hit a three pointer with less than two seconds left. Miami won by two.

OT, but every Easter I usually make everybody watch the "The Ten Commandments" with me. My reasoning is that if they insist on being Christians, they should have to suffer for it. My wife told me last night that we're NOT going to suffer through that 3 hour movie again. I told her that I'd bought a 3D copy of "The Rise of the Guardians" so we're either going to watch that (the Easter Bunny is in it) or else I'd put in the Ten Commandments again. She said we'd watch the 3D movie. It's what I wanted to watch anyway.

Happy Easter everybody. If you're going to drink before going to church, drive carefully.

Arizona Gun Activist Blames Shotgun Giveaway On Democratic Penny Pinching

"The shameless lies told by some of the employees, who would go into the most minute details about seeing a band of Indians breaking camp and moving south, caused me to ride many useless miles in the hot sun and to learn by experience that residence in New Mexico and Arizona, if too prolonged, produces the champion breed of liar."

"Jim Carrey Responds to Fox News: “A Media Colostomy Bag”"

"Since I released my “Cold Dead Hand” video on Funny or Die this week, I have watched Fux News rant, rave, bare its fangs and viciously slander me because of my stand against large magazines and assault rifles. I would take them to task legally if I felt they were worth my time or that anyone with a brain in their head could actually fall for such irresponsible buffoonery. That would gain them far too much attention which is all they really care about."

There's a thousand comments over on the Amanda Knox article.  The people commenting are sure she's either a murdering witch or completely innocent.

Cheney slips further down the rabbit hole

"... far-right paranoia seems to be bequeathed from one generation of deranged conservatives to the next. Social Security was going to destroy America, they said. When that didn't happen, it was Medicare that would crush our way of life, they said. When that didn't happen either, it was the Affordable Care Act -- the dreaded "Obamcare" -- that threatened everything Americans hold dear."

Whiplash

"... social conservatives have begun suggesting they are now in a new and oppressive climate in which they’re no longer able to speak their minds about the immorality of homosexuality or why laws should discriminate against gays."

What a bunch of crybabies.

Does anybody know why you cannot access comments past the opening page?

Same to you. I never drink coffee and drive.

@roknsteve Yikes! I have paid a bit of attention to the case, but am not at that level.

Thanks for the link. Did you notice the graph for minority representation on the left? 77 members of congress are democratic minorities. 6 are republican. They have a big tent. They're just very selective in who they let in.

@sacredh I wish one of them would just make a list of the harm that gay marriage would do to their straight marriage. From the straight marriages I've seen the younger woman is more often a problem.

It might take a while before this subsides. Old habits die hard.

@retiredvet

Just more pc you know.  Dogg the Bounty Hunter complained it interfered with the life he led - he couldn't say the n-word any more.

@La_Randy I had that problem a couple of times yesterday. Refreshed, came back, and it was fine.

Too many jelly beans for LiveFyre.

I have trouble getting past the first page too. Sometimes I can't.

We're going to have a house full later on. My son is stopping by to take his grandmother to church this morning and then they're coming back to eat. I put a vibrator in her purse so that when she gets in there to put money in the plate, she finds a surprise.

@sacredh You did it well. Alas only entrapped one of them.

There are 280 republicans in the house and senate. Six, yes, that's right, just 6 are black, hispanic or asian. Every republican minority in the house and senate would fit into a car. Think about that.

Ivy_B, they're reduced to grasping at nonsensical straws because they don't have a valid argument anymore. My feelings are more important than your rights? Jesus.

It's not going to subside. They can no more change their spots than I could pretend that I'm religious. It just isn't in me.

@53_3  It amuses me. I don't give a rat's peashooter what they say. Never have.

We've got two waves coming in. One at 1 and the other at 3. We've got enough food to feed an army.

Should make for interesting conversation at dinner!

No. Aristrocratic snob that insisted that "you people" could never understand "our" lifestyle.

I went back and came clean. I actually had a nice conversation. I also ran into possibly the most pompous, elitist @ss I've ver had the misfortune to run into.

One of the six is American Indian. I included that because it makes them more inclusive. Lol.

97.8% of the republicans in congress are white. Does this sound like the republicans represent everybody?

I have that problem too. I know smoking is bad for me, but I like to smoke. If there was a God, I'd thank him for coffee and cigarettes in the morning.

retiredvet

Like quitting smoking. My partner would love me to quit. But I don't want to.

You can't change people that don't want to change. Outside pressure can only result in cometic coverups. I haven't believed in a god since I was 6. If the only way I could keep my job was if i went to church, I'd go to church and shout "Amen!" with the best of them. It wouldn't be sincere and I'd resent it. It's the same way with homophobes and bigots. They'll say and do what they have to, but the core beliefs will still be there.

Oh, and as for faults, I have plenty of my own. "Nobody's perfect."

I think we're seeing it happen now. A slow motion train wreck. Notice how the GOP autopsy seems to be not working well.

sacredh

The party will change when they either fracture or the old guard dies off. We all have beliefs or opinions that are ingrained into the very fabric of who we are. Some are good and some are bad. I have a ton of faults. I know that. I've done 180s on some of them, but others are there to stay.

retiredvet

I suppose you're right. The racists didn't change.
