— The latest estimate, here, of the cost to the U.S. of waging the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, from Harvard researcher Linda Bilmes. The eventual cost could reach $6 trillion, she estimates, or nearly $20,000 per American.

This 4-6 trillion is from the beginning of the war through the next 40 years.  Obama spent more in his first 4 years.

Which costs is she adding beyond the ones normally cited?

I'm sure the numbers are right, I'm just interesting in knowing what the breakdown is.  Of particular interest is cost of mental health to veterans and other subsequent impacts stemming from that.

I would like to see a brake down of these numbers. I wonder why Time doesnt offer us that.

And all those chickenhawk liars who got us into the war with Iraq are still publishing articles, appearing on talk shows, acting as if they are still experts valued for their expertise. From Cheney to Doug Feith, why are these people still employed? Many of them ought to be in jail.

...and they complain that Obama is the one who is responsible for running up the debt.

At least some rich people got richer.  There is that ;)

And there are republicans in Congress who have never been in the military who want to attack Iran.
