The Vice President has brought the fireside chat into the 21st century. In a new audio series, “Being Biden,” the Vice President will, according to the White House, “tell the story behind a photo – of where he was, why it matters to him, and how the experience fits into the broader narrative of this Administration.” After the first segment, one can only hope these sneak peeks will become regular events.

In “Vol. 1: The Sportsman’s Ethic,” Biden explains a picture of him serving bread rolls at the Whitehall Neck Sportsman Club’s Wild Game Dinner. Biden says he has attended the dinner every year for the past thirty at the Leipsic, Del., Volunteer Fire Hall, and then delves into the importance of the Second Amendment, comments on the “ethic” of the hunters (they “demand responsibility” and “help those in the community who are in need”), and commends the Senate for deliberating gun-control measures in the wake of the Sandy Hook mass shooting. What is remarkable is that the famously voluble vice president keeps the story under three minutes (although at around the 1:23 mark, it sounds like they cut him off). For those interested in “Being Biden,” click here.
