Dare we hope for two days in a row?

@sacredh  He finally winds up on the right side of an issue but will likely not get his agenda through 'cause he turned on the GOTP--most of whom are legislators.  And those who support his stance can't stand him for all the bridges he burned during his first year in office (cutting, I mean really cutting, education, killing high-speed rail).  This is gonna be fun.

The real explanation for Romney's loss : YouTube (and the Internet)

The MSM was willing to ignore the fact that Romney changed his positions as frequently as he changed his socks.  But YouTube just wouldn't forget that he kept making different, conflicting promises to each group he tried to con.

I seem to recall a lot of comments about Menendez and how guilty he was in the prostitution thing. Guess just another fake scandal. Wonder if the Republican fingerprints will show up.

Ivy_B. OT, but I was out getting groceries earlier and ran into a friend. He and his wife went to Las Vegas 2 weeks ago and I hadn't seen him since they left. I asked him how the vacation went. He said he came down with the flu on their second night there and stayed in the room for the rest of the week. His wife had a minor fender bender in the rental car and it was her fault. They were covered by insurance. Both of them together make only a little more than I do. I told him I was sorry their vacation turned out so bad. He said it was the best vacation they'd ever had in their lives. His wife hit for over 30k on their last night there.

Ivy_B, they're not close friends, they're more like friends of friends that we just see when there's a cookout or something. They're good people though and that money will be a game changer for them. When I ran into him before they left he asked me to shake his hand for luck. He thinks it worked. Lol.

This should not be news:

Politicians, especially conservative ones, massively overestimate the conservatism of their constituents on the issues of gay marriage and universal health care, an academic paper published Sunday has found.

@outsider2011 It goes back to the echo chamber. Their idea of "constituents" is the Fox audience and the right-wing blogosphere. Those are the only voices they listen to.

LOL Of The Week: Republicans Finally Get Their Austerity, And Want More

"The “sequester” now goes down in history with blowing the surplus, Tora Bora, Iraq, Katrina, the financial crisis and the near-debt default in the GOP’s streak of amazing successes. With a streak like that, the only question is whether they’re better at hurting the country accidentally or on purpose.

When it comes to the sequester, the damage will definitely be done on purpose."

Boehner said he believed cuts were needed, but that "there are smarter ways to cut spending than this silly sequester that the president demanded... we need to address the long-term spending problem. But we can't cut our way to prosperity.”

Where has this sanity been for the past 4 years?

Q: If we have a "Fathers day" and a "Mothers day", why don't we have a "Children's day"

A; Because EVERY day is Children's day!

forgottenlord

@PaulDirks

America, despite being one of the first ever to celebrate Children's Day, is one of the few not to celebrate it annually.  Most Countries celebrate it Nov 20th under recommendation from the UN though the most logical day in the US is the Sunday before Father's Day (multiple churches, which started the tradition, celebrate it on the Second Sunday in June and have been celebrating it since the late 19th century).  Nowhere near as big as Mother's and Father's Day, obviously.

Children's day focuses on children's rights - particularly child labor laws.
