Okay, it's a little after 10:00 p.m., and I'm off to bed.  I hereby officially declare paulejb a no-show.

Dare we hope for two days in a row?

The real explanation for Romney's loss : YouTube (and the Internet)

The MSM was willing to ignore the fact that Romney changed his positions as frequently as he changed his socks.  But YouTube just wouldn't forget that he kept making different, conflicting promises to each group he tried to con.

LOL Of The Week: Republicans Finally Get Their Austerity, And Want More

"The “sequester” now goes down in history with blowing the surplus, Tora Bora, Iraq, Katrina, the financial crisis and the near-debt default in the GOP’s streak of amazing successes. With a streak like that, the only question is whether they’re better at hurting the country accidentally or on purpose.

When it comes to the sequester, the damage will definitely be done on purpose."

@Ivy_B @sacredh Somewhere a Republican is trying to figure out how to work this into CPAC …

It will be called the NRA 500, which incidentally, is the same size clips they like.

@sacredh Someone on Roberts' staff needs to sit him down and have the Roger B. Taney talk with him.

@sacredh  He finally winds up on the right side of an issue but will likely not get his agenda through 'cause he turned on the GOTP--most of whom are legislators.  And those who support his stance can't stand him for all the bridges he burned during his first year in office (cutting, I mean really cutting, education, killing high-speed rail).  This is gonna be fun.

There goes my one half of one percent raise. This will be three years without a raise.

Ivy_B. OT, but I was out getting groceries earlier and ran into a friend. He and his wife went to Las Vegas 2 weeks ago and I hadn't seen him since they left. I asked him how the vacation went. He said he came down with the flu on their second night there and stayed in the room for the rest of the week. His wife had a minor fender bender in the rental car and it was her fault. They were covered by insurance. Both of them together make only a little more than I do. I told him I was sorry their vacation turned out so bad. He said it was the best vacation they'd ever had in their lives. His wife hit for over 30k on their last night there.

Dang!  Truly amazing what lengths Republicals will go through to catch someone in a lie.  And for the effort to turn out botched like a Wile E. Coyote plan.

@outsider2011 It goes back to the echo chamber. Their idea of "constituents" is the Fox audience and the right-wing blogosphere. Those are the only voices they listen to.

The study is from academia. Education is a dirty word for these idiots. Why should they believe it?

The president "demanded" the sequester? Somehow I missed that.

mantisdragon91

@outsider2011 And the panic sets in. Much like when they did something similar under Clinton, Republicans are starting to realize that they will bear the brunt of the public's ill will once their services become impacted.

Next thing you know, Chief Justice Roberts will be asking why there’s no white history month during oral args

Paule would probably ask: "Yeah! Why isn't there?!"

I don't know why they don't race in the other direction. They could turn right all the time.

@sacredh 'Thought it would be something like the Playing to Our Base 500.  Or the Kill Kids for All We Care Just Don't Take Away My Sacred Right To Blow Somebody's Head Off 500 - Presented by Smith & Wesson.

@sacredh OK. Where do I need to go and say you're my friend? I've tried with the scratch offs, but that didn't work. Now your legendary luck is just transferring to friends? Man! ;-)

I've always really liked those cartoons. The coyote is convinced that he's the smart one and never wins. In fact, he loses in pretty spectacular ways. Wile E. Coyote a good analogue for the right these days. Meep meep!

Being Paulie means never having to say you're sorry.

Ever.

Especially to your sworn enemies.

@outsider2011 Might explain why he's a no-show today. For as much as he pummeled that story, for it to turn out it's fake....

Ah well, hope he stays gone.

That's what Woodward said anyway....

@bobell Sure he got of his Camel, held a tulwar to Boehner's neck and made him swear on the Koran that he will give him the sequester so that Obama and his Muslism brethren can over run a weakened US Military.

In honor of Paulie I propose a Yippee-Ki-Yay... Day.

@DonQuixotic @nflfoghorn

My grandfather used to tell a joke:

Q: If we have a "Fathers day" and a "Mothers day", why don't we have a "Children's day"

A; Because EVERY day is Children's day!

Ivy_B, they're not close friends, they're more like friends of friends that we just see when there's a cookout or something. They're good people though and that money will be a game changer for them. When I ran into him before they left he asked me to shake his hand for luck. He thinks it worked. Lol.

@Ivy_B @sacredh I'm telling you, we need to get a powerball pool or something going here in the Swamp and have sacred buy the tickets. We'd all be 1 percenters!

@mantisdragon91 @bobell Pres. Obama rides a Magic Carpet just like in Aladdin.  And Boehner is really a Slestak who lives in Middle Earth.  Didn't you get the memo?

@nflfoghorn You can't use Yippee-Ki-Yay because it's from ancient wisdom.  And that's one thing Paulie is short on-Wisdom.

@nflfoghorn I like Troll Day myself. That way we can all post links to questionable material and declare victory when questioned about them.

@PaulDirks

America, despite being one of the first ever to celebrate Children's Day, is one of the few not to celebrate it annually.  Most Countries celebrate it Nov 20th under recommendation from the UN though the most logical day in the US is the Sunday before Father's Day (multiple churches, which started the tradition, celebrate it on the Second Sunday in June and have been celebrating it since the late 19th century).  Nowhere near as big as Mother's and Father's Day, obviously.

Children's day focuses on children's rights - particularly child labor laws.
