Ethical Questions Arise Ahead of Hagel SecDef Hearing

The American Future Fund charges that Hagel has a history of unethical behavior a week before his Senate hearing to become the next Secretary of Defense.

The American Future Fund, a conservative group funded by the Koch brothers, has released a new national TV ad charging that Hagel has a pattern of unethical behavior, a week before his Senate hearing to become the next Defense Secretary.  “While serving in the Senate, Chuck Hagel declined to publicly disclose millions in underlying assets,” the ad’s narrator says. “Hagel accepted gold-plated trips from lobbyists and campaign cash from banking interests he was supposed to be regulating.”  The commercial cost $500,000 and is set to air on Fox and CNN until Hagel’s hearing next Thursday, according to Real Clear Politics.
