Seriously Joe, this gets old. Let's try to prop up this guy a little longer, until at least November 6. Are you truly trying to convince your readers that the economy is strong? And that Romney's delusional, just because you said so? This tells you so much about the Dim-witted party and their lack of a grip on reality!

Joe Klein, shame on you for misconstruing Romney's words, and at the same time saying nothing about Obama's condescending statement to fundraisers about the country being populated by bumpkins who are bitterly clinging to guns and religion.

You're acting like a political hack, not a journalist.

This is worth a look. It's been happening for quite awhile, but there are only so many welfare queens to go around, the Republicans have been expanding the category to include retirees, and when that stopped working they pretty much went after all hourly workers.

Jon Stewart the other day:

"If there's one thing we can all agree upon it's"

(Clips from Fox of "Obama is the worst President ever")

"Which is why he's getting absolutely crushed by one Willard Romney"

(Clips showing the polls)

"I suspect Romney doesn't really believe that 47% of the electorate are moochers; he was just dialing for dollars."

I have no reason to suspect that he doesn't really believe that. He's had a life of privilege.

And how else can one sleep at night after destroying so many jobs/lives without the comfort of "Well if they were actually productive people they wouldn't be out of work"

His dismissal of the lower and middle classes is a coping mechanism.

"But it's becoming increasingly difficult to see how the man who mouthed those words, whether he believes them or not, can be elected President"

.

That may be an understatement. Mitt is supported by vast majorities that are under 50%. The lion's share of his campaign money is provided by a few of the mega-wealthy. He's had to support positions taken by his own party that the majority of the rest of the country disagrees with.

.

It's not that it's hard to see how Mitt can get elected, it's hard to see how he doesn't drag the rest of the party down with him.

I think Ryan's looking at 2016 very hard and trying to figure out how to campaign without being in the same room with him. The less people tie the two together the better for him down the road.

The RomneyBot "empathy" sub-routine has some serious bugs in it and  MAY simply be incompatible with the underlying firmware.

The man doesn't know how to relate to "commoners" because he's NEVER had to.  It isn't a skill set that the field of Vulture Capitalist has any need to display to any degree.

I'm looking forwrd to the books that are going to be written about the campaign after November and see who throws down the gauntlet first. My bet is on Ryan's staffers trying to spin it so that Ryan was trying to save the party by agreeing to be the VP candidate. I look for his people to try to frame his run as being on the order of "He put aside his suspicions and ran to put the country and the future of the party first".

I look at a Newsweek once every 4 years. They have always had embedded reporters on both campaigns and the post election stories have been excellent.

So unless Tina Brown screws that up I'd recommend it.

Not to mention his "imaginary" lead in the polls.

How long is it going to take before the GOP starts to throw the House of Rass under the bus because he had the gall to show Romney trailing...?

And what if Romney wins? You know that Rass and one other polling organization have the best predictive history of all the polling organizations. Get used to reality, because it's coming!

Get used to reality, because it's coming...

Can't argue with that... but I wonder if you know what "reality" means...?
