Biden: Romney “Gonna Put Y’all Back in Chains”

There’s folksy and there’s offensive, and then there’s Joe Biden. At a campaign rally in Danville, Va., on August 14, Joe Biden said that if Romney were elected president, he would let Wall Street go back to doing whatever it wants: “unchained…he gonna put y’all back in chains.” The slavery metaphor was inappropriate, especially in front of an audience that included many African-Americans. But it didn’t faze ol’ Joe. He finished his speech to applause, saying ”With you we can win North Carolina again.” Danville is in Virginia.

If the voting populace decides to go Republican, expect higher taxes (less for the rich), more debt (historically true), more military adventurism, less infrastructure investment, and less social benefits. It's what they are saying, no secrets here. The supreme irony is that if the Right slashed and burned social programs like Medicare, the greatest beneficiaries (other than the wealthy elite who would end up with the lion share of the money), would be surprisingly Liberals since they tend to be young, educated, hard working, employed, non Red State.

Man, those guys are right about the government doing too much. Thank White Jesus that Mitt Romney isn't going to a blessed thing for anyone! If he had less contempt for the electorate, why, who KNOWS what kinda silly nonsense he might do? You're seriously ranking Biden's comments as a "gaffe?" It's what enabled Obama to come out and say what he'd likely believed for years, which changed a bunch of minds and advanced the cause of equal rights. Seriously, we should all have such profound "gaffes."

Listening to the Romney tape is worse than reading about it. He's got the Fox/Tea Party/Luntz talking points down to a T. Does he practice in front of a mirror or has he spouted them so much they now just flow naturally? Previously he said those who don't pay Federal income tax will be happy to do so as then they'll be proud to be supporting our troops. (some of them are our troops). He's on Fox this afternoon repeating the same - they'll be happy to pay - all it will take is a President who'll sock it to em. And it's not class warfare - class warfare is when you want the Clinton taxes put back on the 1%.
