Well, Matt Drudge has linked to this, saying Time Magazine “trashes” Romney. You be the judge…More in sadness than in anger, Matt.

Time tends to 'generally' be 'somewhat' objective and mostly informative and Joe Klein funny, biased sometimes infantile rarely informative but has gone totally 'swampland' on "The Mitt Mirage".

This kind of garbage belongs in the N Y Times and other liberal socialist publications I choose not to read either.

One definition of "Journalism" is ....."writing characterized by a direct presentation of facts or description of events without an attempt at interpretation".

Ever try that, Joe? Didn't think so!!

Mitt Mirage? I'll tell you what a mirage would be: It would be a picture of Barry working in the Oval Office, or Barry showing up for his PDB-Security, every morning. Another mirage photo of Barry would be him actually meeting with HIS job council, or having a Cabinet Meeting. How about this mirage moment, Barry with his mouth shut and actually listening to someone who knows what they're talking about, or of him telling Harry Reid to get his bony arse to work. Fat chance, but we do get the Barry, Not A Mirage Photo of him lining up a putt on the 9th., or Barry deplaning Air Force One in Cleveland for yet another campaign stop, or Hollywood for another pathetic beg for money trip.

Hey Klein:  How about an article on Obama's smashing job in the Middle East?  It would be easy even  for you as long as you could spell dazed, confused, inept, lost, self-centered, dim wit, and hallf wit.  Oh, ya gotta be able to tell the truth, which may be bridge too far for you.

NUTCASE Romney STOP WASTING your campaign’s money, and our TIME. Go gentle into that good night, now.

As much as I dislked Bush, he was and is four times the man and twice as intelligent as this Obama bum.  Obama is all hat and no ranch.  To that dimwit, talking is working, so once he talks about doing something that task is complete.  He even hired 40 czars to do his work, but he's so lazy he doesn't supervise them, they do nothing, and he thinks they are.  AMF 11-06-2012

Mitt mirage?  Get off the drugs Klien.  No matter how much your ilk lies, how much the media tries to bend polls, conduct rigged polls, or tell outright lies about Romney, Obama the Inept will be completely stomped and swamped November 6.  I can hardly wait for your crying and name calling, nor can I wait for the riots the Muslim you helped elect in 2008 will cause with his hateful rhetoric.

I just love it to death when Matt Drudge takes his pants down and bends a big steamy one all over this board. This guy, ya gotta love this guy right? The only thing more fun than eating these fools' philosophical lunches is the mass shaming that's going to happen after Romney doesn't manage to get more than 200 electoral votes.

You can call me a racist if it adds to your argument, but everything I know about racism I've learned from leftists who accuse everyone who doesn't agree with them, doesn’t like the self-centered fool you think is a president, or likes, or will vote for Romney, of being racist.  I’ve also learned a lot about racism from the Racist in Chief himself and his galpal Eric My People Holder.  Don’t tell me he’s smart without proof, don’t tell me he is articulate , because he is not—in fact he can’t do much more than him and haw without a teleprompter (that is why he travels with several backups).  I was hoping Wide Load would roll over on him some night and crush his brest bone into his heart, but now I’m looking forward to him getting the boot by the landslide that is coming.  Obama, known for ZERO ACCOMPLISHMENTS.  I think he should reimburse the treasury for his wages he didn’t earn, for his trips, his campaign thefts, and for everything that woman who eats like a 2-Horsepower  garbage disposal.

I don't think many on the left realize just how . . . say, less than bright you are, but some of you are so dense, you put out the lights. I've heard of this Drudge for years, but never have I read him, seen him, nor have I heard him that I know of. I don't like Hannity; quit listening to Limbaugh so many years ago I forget. Maybe it's because I 'm too busy making money to waste my time listening to someone else's opinion. I guess you lefties all listen to those guys will make you smart, but sorry pal, you have to read, read, read, do independent research, fact check, and stay current with what is going on. You must get that same tingle n up your . . .um . . .  leg as that commie when Obama starts blathering. Dream on pal, for what the Imbecile in Chief has done to our economy, what he has caused us throughout the Middle East, to Americans and others he has gotten killed with both Fast and Furious; by not protecting our embassies in his Muslim countries, and putting Marines at risk by putting them in vulnerable positions without loaded weapons, etc. he is going out the back door of the WH with a more lopsided loss than the original Imbecile in Chief, Jimma Carter.  BTW, Carter and his progressive commie dupes were spewing the same garbage about routing Reagan and we know how that turned out, don’t we.  Please don’t tell me what someone else thinks, try being original.

"Romney is from a very privileged, protected background, and seems tone-deaf." Do you say the same about the Kennedy's? John Kerry? Of course not, because they pander, but Ted Kennedy cared nothing about anyone except for Ted Kennedy and neither does the phony war hero, John Kerry. Kennedy proved that when he killed Mary Jo and John Kerry proved it when he demanded a Purple Heart for a wound he never got--in fact all three are suspect: No stitches, no down time, just a handful of APC's, a tube of ointment, and some gauze. He again proved it when he made unfounded and impossible for him to prove, but more impossible to disprove fairy tale charges against Marines and soldiers of rapes and murders. Coming from humble beginnings does not guarantee empathy. I know, I came from nothing and had a pretty good life from hard work, going back to school, and more hard work.  I served in the Marines six-years and fought two war tours.  My daddy, his brothers, my mother’s brothers all fought through the Great Depression and then fought WWII. They never cried uncle, they never quit working until they were 65-YO, but they could retire and they never asked for a dime from anyone or anything.  I have no use or the crybabies that have been raised in this country with the Dem point of view that they are owed something and if I had anything to do with it, they would work or starve; they would find a way to go to school and shut up; they would pay for their own f***ing birth control and abortions; they would quit their endless 24/7 crying jag of “poor me’ and they would not get one thin dime until they started working for it.   I have no empathy for deadbeats.  BTW, I thought JFK and RFK werte pretty good men despite their personal lives, but Ted should have taken that bullet for Jack.

Paddy,

This isn't 1980, and Barack Obama is not Jimmy Carter.  If anything, Barack Obama is much more similar to George H.W. Bush in 1992.  Carter was failure as a President, we had high unemployment and we had hostages in Iran.  His rescue mission failed.  Obama, on the other hand, his mission to get Osama Bin Laden succeeded, just like George H. W. Bush succeeded in the first gulf war. However, George H. W. Bush had a weak economy and a forerunner to the Tea Party in Ross Perot, which allowed Bill Clinton to win with about 40% of the vote.

Romney is no Reagan.  Reagan came from a simple background and had a good understanding of human nature.  Romney is from a very privileged, protected background, and seems tone-deaf.  Reagan stood for something, but was flexible.  Romney stands for nothing and is very rigid.

As for appearing weak, just remember Osama first perceived American weakness when Reagan pulled the Marines out of Lebanon.  If Obama did anything close, you can be sure the Republicans would be howling.

Assuming black people are unemployed and on welfare is racist. Which makes you a racist. Racist.

paddyomalley
paddyomalley

What's racist about asking a question?  I trold you leftists are so quick to play race cards, they prove who the racists are.  If you think asking you if you're Blackis racist, it is because you think everything is racist, due to your racist upbringing.  You didn't answer it BTW.  Looky kid, you should be in school or something, so hop to it.

Curious_Quiche
Curious_Quiche

There it is. There's that sweet, sweet racism I was waiting for. Reb Isaac over here thought I was with the tribe, and now Paddy O'derpy thinks I'm black. None of you could be more wrong if you tried. About everything. Everywhere.

paddyomalley

You're Black aren't you?  Was that B-Crock or B-Rock?  Shut up and go back to loafing.  Your freebies are over on January 21, 2013.  Better start looking for a job now . . . maybe B-Crock will hire you to clean up after the dog.  No, the real dog, not Wide Load.  If your people need you, they don't need much, pally.

Curious_Quiche

Racist? You can't even keep track of who you're trying to troll. This post-hysterical-lies-and then-post-more-lies-when-called-on-it-and-maybe-insinuate-the-audience-is-illiterate gambit is working so well for you anyway. Romney is still in the polling toilet and you could have conveyed the same amount of meaning by bashing your face on the keyboard. You don't win just because you can shout louder.

paddyomalley

Were you alive in 1980?  I don't think so, because Cater led Reagan by 8 in late October and lost by 9.  In fact Carter was so inept, I changed from Democrat to Republican so that I could vote for Reagan in the Primary.  Dukakis led Bush by 17 the first week in August and lostby 8 points.  I warned you to do your own research, but no--you want to continue to advertise all that you don't know.  Maybe you're just bragging about your ignorance?   BTW, I answered your charges in my first response to you, so maybe you need some critical thinking, reasoning, and remedial reading classes.

Curious_Quiche
Curious_Quiche

You sure used a lot of words to say nothing at all, pal. Also, please stop trotting out Reagan/Carter. Carter never even lead Reagan. It's just another stupid lie the right made up and the ignoranti swallowed it whole. Even if he did, and it jived out like you said, this ain't that campaign, B-Rock is no Jimmy Carter, and Romney sure as hell ain't no Reagan.

Joe, the reason that you don't like Mitt is because he doesn't do as you would want him to. Get over it. He doesn't answer to you or your 3rd rate magazine. I would also suggest that you and your "fringe" element have taken over a Democrat Party that I grew up with. Republicans "hateful"? Really? Who denied "God" in their platform on prime time TV while also pushing for abortion on demand, killing innocent babies? Perhaps you and your new DNC should look into the mirror and face what you have become. By the way, Obama is doing the same thing that Carter did with Tehran in '79. If Obama keeps this up it will seal the end of his presidency. That Obama was even worse than Carter. Think about it. You know that I am right. From a former Democrat.

fhmadvocat

kevin,

The problem is not that Mitt Romney doesn't do what Joe Klein wants him to.  The problem is that Mitt Romney feels the need to respond to right wingers against his better judgment.  Since when has Mitt Romney stood up against the right wing of the Republican party?  If he can't stand up to them, how can we expect him to stand up to Putin in Russia.  Mitt spends his time trying to "me, too" to the right wing of his party.

It Mitt Romney 1.0 were running for president, he would easily defeat Obama for the presidency.  However Mitt 1.0 would have never won the Republican primary.  Mitt might try to "etch-a-sketch" himself back to the middle (like he did on Meet The Press) but it is too late.

...because [Romney] doesn't do as you would want him to.

Give him a day or so and he will circle around to it. And then away again. And then back.

Truth is that Romney will do just about anything to get elected. He would Etch-a-Sketch further to the left like he did in Massachusetts if his fringe right-wing base would let him.

He doesn't answer to yo....

Yeah, the first thing I think of when I see and hear Mitt Romney is the word rebel. Seems to have the "without a clue" part down well, though.

From a former Democrat.

Guessing you weren't happy about LBJ signing that civil rights act, right?

Mittens doesn't answer to anyone. Possibly because he know the average voter would be horrified by his real answers.

Perry and Paul, Their parents sacrificed everything for them.  What's their legacy to their kids and country?  Sorry kids, It's all about me now.  Hey wait, maybe you can push sacrifice off on your kids.

You haven't ventured out of your right-wing infobubble much, have you?

What's their legacy to their kids and country?

Opportunity to have a quality education. Not having to go bankrupt because you get injured in a serious car accident. Cleaner environment. Energy independence. Safe food to eat. Banks that don't rip you off. Bridges and highways that aren't crumbling.

Stuff that has to be paid for in order to be considered a first world country.

Sorry kids, It's all about me now.

a) What a pathetic attempt at spin.

b) That's also ironic, considering that reducing tax revenues reduces the commons while further enriching wealthy persons...in effect, Ryan's plan is all about what serves the individual and not what serves society.

c) Isn't the current strain of right wing ideology heavily influenced by Ayn Rand, who wrote a collection of essays titled The Virtue of Selfishness?

Left wing dribble. Better education? We are ranked near the bottom of western countries due to the pandering of the libs to public unions that have benefits and pensions that are bankrupting every city in America. Car accident issues are related to no one taking on the lawyers, dems or republicans. Cleaner environment? To some degree but we are being dictated to by left wing environmental terrorists whose real goal is globalization of our rights. Carbon footprints my a**. They are being bought up by the Al gores, George Soros and Goldman Sachs of this world. Banks were forced to make these stupid loans by the likes of Barney frank and Chris Dodd and then as a going away present they saddled us with Frank Dodd massive regulations that is job killing. Did you not see that America dropped to #7 in competitiveness do to excessive regulations and bureaucracy. We were #1 in 2008 and every year before that. Bridges and roads crumbling? Obama asked for 1 trillion dollars for shovel ready jobs that he later admitted that there weren't any. Instead he paid off the teacher's union pensions and shipped oversees Green energy jobs that are a joke. Energy independance? Hah...That's the biggest laugh of all. He has stopped all new drilling. All the new drilling was grandfathered in from Bush. Canada's pipeline that could be bringing cheap oil to us is now going west for China.

Stop watching Shultze and Maddow. Stop pretending like you actually spend anytime reading other than twitter trending. Your simplistic non fact base phylosophy is killing us. I would rather you just go back to smoking dope and sit on the couch. Fact check everything I just said. I'm sure you won't. You will just vote for Obama like all the other drones and then years from now you will be saying I didn't realize Obama really didn't know what he was doing. By then we will be Greece.

Hey kids. If your one of the lucky ones who's parents earn all their money from investments, we're going to slash your taxes including your inheritance taxes. If on the other hand you work for a salary, we're going to make up for the lost taxes by removing your deductions.

What a lovely legacy for young people. You must be quite proud!

Peggy Noonan, who made waves with her criticism of Romney on Fox News, had an even more withering assessment for her own Wall Street Journal.

"Romney looked weak today," she said. "At one point, he had a certain slight grimace on his face when he was taking tough questions from the reporters, and I thought, 'He looks like Richard Nixon.'"

WELL SAID, PEGGY.  Romney = TrickyDickNixon/Yes, you are a CROOK.

Joe Klein is sadly IN decline, just like the Time publication. It gets smaller, just like Mr. Klein's following. He is so out of touch with the mainstream and basically a staunch partisan fluke of a reporter.

This chart clears up a common misconception ( as expressed by Isaac below)

In the 1930's life expectancy at birth was less than 60 years. Life expectancy at 60 years though was an additional 15.

Statistics are very easy to misunderstand.

Mitt dumbing down what he says - and for that matter, W. dumbing down what he said - show that the leaders of the Republican party don't have a very high opinion of their base.  (Never thought before that there's something we can all agree on.)
