The title says it all.
So now the Republicans are trying to trash his business. (No, it's not the same as Chick-fil-a or what the Mormons did with Prop 8 in CA.)
The Democrats boycott places that preach hatred (Chick-fil-a, Mormons Prop 8), the Republicans boycott for not hating enough?
Since everyone in his area seems to think VERY highly of him, I doubt they'll have much luck.
I'm sure not, it's just so typically nasty. As the article said, one of the commenters was from Arizona. Doubt that he goes to FL to patronize this guys business anyway!
Can you imagine Romney in that situation?
When you see the video, it's so obvious that Obama has real warmth and charm.
Can you imagine Romney in that situation?
Flashback to Queen Elizabeth's visit to the US back in 2005...Romney would handle it well enough, but the right-wing press would go all a-twitter over how it was a breach in protocol.
His reaction was priceless, wasn't it? Looked totally trusting and relaxed. Of course he came in to see this guy because he runs blood drives out of his pizzeria (or whatever it is). And of course all the media is covering this guy because he picked up the prez, so they hear him saying how he's voting for Obama even though he's a Republican. Maybe I should change my mind about the advisability of this. :0)
I was thinking same thing. He couldn't lean any further back than he did coming down that line at his "acceptance" speech at RNC. And those were like hand picked people! He'd faint if anyone did this. This guy did apparently clear it with SS but you can see he is just SOOOO excited. He seems like a champion human being too. Lots of people talking about his fundraisers for charity and what a big hearted fellow he is. Registered Republican for Obama.
It's also obvious thatObama is pretty skinny. Michelle needs to allow him some real food -- maybe the Bill Clinton diet circa 1992.
So this was fine, but I sure hope the Secret Service nips any copycats in the bud. Someone with bad intentions could do serious harm.
What I heard on the news media was that he asked the SS after if they were concerned and they said something like he wasn't going to be allowed to move away holding the president or something like that. Whatever the case, I couldn't see any SS moving in as I would expect.
Anyway, I agree with kathy, it was a funny one time thing, but, please, don't allow anybody to copy cat it.
That's funny. I heard him say on MSNBC this morning that the Secret Service "took a couple of steps toward me." It's hard to see the SS agreeing to let somebody pick up the POTUS.
Another interview. http://www.wpbf.com/news/polit...
I would bet he said "Can I give him a hug". SS probably didn't know it would be THAT physical.
I think they would have done that out of training/reflex even if he told them up front what he intended.
And THOROUGHLY search him for potential weaponry beforehand...
Nah. Big gap between treating him like da queen and not letting people pick him up.
