Fact:

MOST working people pay a much higher percentage of their income in

Social Security and Medicare tax than does a guy like Mitt. This is a

significant tax for most workers (about 7.5%) of their income and their

employer pays about the same. Most of Mitt's income is exempt from this

tax. Even if we give Mitt credit for his self-employment tax, Mitt pays

less than %0.15 of his income in Social Security and Medicare taxation.

That is a rate 50 times LESS than most working people. That's right, the

guy mowing Mitt's lawn is paying 50 times higher rate of SS and Med.

taxation than does Mitt. You can easily check it out online at the

Social Security Administration.

But that is not the end of the preferential treatment for Mitt and those very wealthy like him.

Fact: In addition, almost all of Mitt's income is taxed at the lower capital

(unearned) rate while the income of most middle class workers is

generally a higher ordinary (earned) rate. That's right, if you WORK for

your money you pay at a much higher rate. If your income is UNEARNED -

as Mitt claims his is, then you pay at a much lower capital rate.

What makes it even worse is that Mitt proposes to lower his taxes and

the taxes of his estate even more all while taxes on the ultra-rich are

about the lowest they have been 80 years and our country is broke. The

Ryan plan he has endorsed will cut future social security benefits and

at the same time drop the top tax rate by about a third. So he gets

money, we get less when we are old, and the country goes even more in

debt.

You can easily verify how historically low the top tax

rate is by simply googling "top income tax rate history". Google the

Ryan plan too.

Obama is HIRING!!  He is finally focusing on JOBS.

"The president's new investments included additional staffers. He employed 853 people in July, up from 779 a month earlier, a USA TODAY analysis shows."

Good job Barry, we knew you were focused on jobs all along buddy.  I can't wait to vote for you in November.

NOT

PS Barry:  Here's a quarter, call someone who cares.

Toad Akin, most recent woman hating Republithug to hug national attention, will always be able to get a job writing one-liners and policy statements for Rush Limbaugh The National Drug Abuser Poster Boy.

A new survey found that only 31 percent of Americans would want

to sit next to Mitt Romney on a flight. Romney was so upset, he was like,

"I don't understand. How would they get on my private jet?"  hahahahahaha

I am sure Mr Obama will be gracious enough to send a thank you note to Todd Akin in response to his comment exposing the latest dose of GOP misogyny, and helping the Republithugs secure the White House for Obama for another four years.

In fact, I think I will send him a thank you note of my own.

The Republithugs have done so much to assist Mr. Obama that, really, he doesn't need to campaign at all.

U.S. Out Of My Uterus

It comes down to one thing: It's my body. Not Uncle Sam's, not Trent Lott's, not Pat Robertson's. Mine. Congress can demand a portion of my income, it can tell me how fast to drive, it can kill killers and anyone else it thinks it must to preserve a free and civil society. But my body—the skin, bones and organs that comprise me—is where the line gets drawn.

This whole Paul Ryan's views are NOW under Romney's claims by the Republican party,  are an outrage! It is an insult to any right thinking voter!!

Ryan is a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Since he as the same views as this Akin clown, at least to the extent they think they can legislate women's reproductive rights away, then he cannot hide behind the curtain of ... I am with Romney. He has a track record.  It does not vanish because he is now the 2nd on the ticket. To make that assertion is unthinking and unoriginal. He is now under Romney??? So his views have been wiped clean?

That argument is untenable. If the positions of a Veep are absorbed under the head of the ticket, then the Veep's views are immaterial? The position the Republican party is seeking to seal is untenable, no matter how you sparse it.

That is not the way our Democracy works.  The reason the views of the Veep in an election matters, is the same reason we need to see Romney's tax returns. We need to know the person running for those offices. Their views matter, their past counts.

We need to make sure that they appear, at least on the face of  it, to be above reproach.  Romney owes US, THE ELECTORATE, many more tax returns.  And Ryan, we need to look at HIS character and positions. He is a veep candidate, a man a heart beat away from the presidency, and not Romney's shadow.

As Rove used to chant, "Character matters", your views, your tangible acts and statements all go to show who you are. Ryan might be a birther for all I know based o the information about his crazy positions on women. KOOK...

I thought Ryan was a good looking, well-meaning but misguided ideologue. Today, after reviewing his person-hood bill, I think he is a Right wing nut who still thinks women are chattel.

This is the Ryan they said was smart?? How so? I just watched a few interviews. He is a few steps removed from Palin.. hahaha.... and he is a well spoken white strappin' male, so he already got a "must be smart until the contrary is proven" button.  Palin did not have that button.

Anyhoo, the true test of intellect is not the ability to repeat talking points and spout atrocious extreme views, but the ability to think in a very analytical way.

From what I have read and seen of Ryan all day today, he is a scary loose cannon.

I don't know why he spends so much time drafting bills on women's wombs, uterus, fallopian tubes and even contraception.  So annoying.  A bunch of men huddled today trying to drag us back into the dark ages. I am conservative but CANNOT and WILL NOT ever tell another women what to do with her body. No one SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO SO.

This Ryan's amendment to rape, a bill he co-sponsored, shows that he is a nut job.  Rather than pass a jobs bill, he is interested in peeking into women's reproductive cavities,  to tell us what type of contraception to use, and what rape should mean.

This is the Veep pick for a presidential candidate that has no policies of his own on which to run??? This is MADNESS. Ryan is a NUT CASE!!

Nevermind. Found it.

What happens if Akin drops Senate bid?Posted byCNN Political Unit(CNN) – While Republican Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri has pledged to continue his bid for a U.S. Senate seat, the uproar over the congressman's comments continues to snowball, with many top Republicans calling for him to reconsider his decision. The Republican recently won his party's nomination to battle incumbent Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill in November's general election. He pulled out a victory in Missouri's primary earlier this month, defeating businessman John Brunner and former state treasurer Sarah Steelman in a three-way race.

– Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTickerAkin has faced a surge of criticism from Democrats and Republicans alike since he claimed in an interview Sunday that "legitimate rape" rarely resulted in pregnancy. He apologized for his comment Monday but said he plans to stay in the running for U.S. Senate. If, however, he does decide to drop out, he has a short timeline to do so without wading into much paperwork. According to Missouri election law, a nominee for a statewide office can withdraw with little difficulty if they do so no later than the 11th Tuesday before the general election. This year, that particular Tuesday falls this week, on Aug. 21. However, if the nominee wants to drop out after that date, he or she could do so if there is no additional cost for printing or reprinting ballots. The nominee may also opt to pay for those printing costs. If that step is taken, the nominee can withdraw through a court order, but that step must be taken before the sixth Tuesday (Sept. 25) prior to the general election. After the candidate's name is off the ballot, it's up to the state party to choose a replacement candidate. When picking a nominee, the party must meet the following requirements: 1) a majority of the members of the nominating committee must be present2) members must be present in person to vote (with a few exceptions) 3) a majority vote of the members present is needed to nominate a candidate 4) The state party committee may not delegate its authority to any other person or group.

Akin said just a couple of hours ago that he is staying in the race. Is it too late for him to withdraw? I can understand the republican senate committee deciding not to give him the 5 million in campaign funds, but does he have to remain on the ticket?
