As political issues go, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan may have been eclipsed by a faltering economy. But with tens of thousands of troops currently deployed to those countries, Romney’s use of “peacetime” was definitely a stretch. A spokesman later clarified he meant “since World War II.”
