TUCSON–Rep. Gabrielle Giffords remains in critical condition Sunday morning after being shot in the head Saturday during a massacre that claimed the lives of six and wounded at least 12 more.

TIME contributor Adam Klawonn has a dispatch from the scene yesterday. Law enforcement and medical authorities are holding press conferences this morning, and we’ll report back as soon as we can. Authorities confirmed they searching for a potential accomplice to Jared Lee Loughner, 22, who police said carried out the tragic rampage in the parking lot of a Safeway on the outskirts of this southern Arizona city of some 500,000. The second man, a dark-haired Caucasian  in his 40s who was captured in surveillance video near the scene of the shooting wearing jeans and a dark-blue jacket.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department also released the names of the six victims overnight. They are: John Roll, 63, the Arizona judge; Dorothy Morris, 76; Dorwin Stoddard, 76; Christina Greene, 9; Phyllis Schneck, 79; and Gabriel Zimmerman 30, the director of community outreach on Giffords’ staff. According to the University Medical Center in Tucson, all except Greene died at the scene.
