“George Soros, the billionaire financier who was an energetic Democratic donor in the last several election cycles but is sitting this one out, is not feeling optimistic about Democratic prospects.

‘I made an exception getting involved in 2004,’ Mr. Soros, 80, said in a brief interview Friday at a forum sponsored by the Bretton Woods Committee, which promotes understanding of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

‘And since I didn’t succeed in 2004, I remained engaged in 2006 and 2008. But I’m basically not a party man. I’d just been forced into that situation by what I considered the excesses of the Bush administration.’”

He has funded nearly every single liberal far left extreme group in America, 100 fold compared to the Koch Brothers. Most are now set up as formidable opponents to anything conservative. Most are not required to report any of their financial involvements with Soros, and most are players in the internet media we see today.

We can however agree that billionaires should be pointed out whether they be on the right or the left, and exposed for their manipulation of our system of government. They should be stopped, or the transparency of what they do should at minimum be exposed to the public, and then let the public decide how much they should be let to do what they do.

Soros may claim now his innocence, but he is neck deep involved in the initial funding, and support of all things “liberal” since 2004. The “seed” money was well spent. Soros can now back away and watch his trees grow.

It was fun at first because with the live callers. I was getting a bunch from some group shilling for Huckabee for some religious freedom stuff. I got hung up on a few times when I insisted that Huckabee include beastiality as a religious freedom.

kbang, I’m just soooo fed up with all the election stuff. Friday morning my wife went out with me in the truck to pick up pumpkins and cornstalks at a nearby farm. There were a bunch of campaign signs on a low hill by the road. I looked in the mirrors to see if there was anybody in sight and flipped it into 4WD. My wife told me to not even think about it. I was going to take them all out.

I’m with you on Universal Healthcare vs What We Got. It barely surpasses the ‘better than nothing’ mark, but…well, its better than nothing.

I’m not so sure about the foot-shooting, though. I think people respond well to a principled decision, even if they may not agree with it. Consistently compromising equates to lack of spine to a lot of people out there – left and right. I wonder if Obama had shown more spine and if he been less willing to make-a-deal would he appear to be more of a ‘leader’ to the W Va crowd? Appearances mean a lot in this country.

WV opposes Cap and trade and, regulations on mountain top removal of coal. They oppose Clean energy or anything that might mean that they lose jobs in the coal industry. So naturally they oppose everything that Obama might say or do including Health Care. They are running scared.
