Rahm’s Thesaurus

Who says the Internet is transforming politics? Just take a look at Rahm’s new campaign video. There it is on the desk, a paper reference book, Roget’s II,  just like the one your grandfather used to use. And I think that’s a Merriam Webster dictionary. [Insert searching-for-the-right-profanity joke here.] And then there is Rahm, who is talking to you, or at least to the space three inches to the right of your right ear.

If this speaking-to-the-right-of-your-right-ear style seems vaguely familiar, it may be because it has been done before, by another candidate from Chicago, with more dynamic furnishings, spottier lighting and less reference books.

For more on Emanuel’s mayoral campaign, you can see his new website here, which has reprinted verbatim Rahm’s remarks from his first campaign event, in the East Room of the White House Friday. (Go Bears.)
