James O’Keefe Jumps The Shark A Second Time

The faux pimp who tricked ACORN, became a Fox News star and later got arrested for trying to play a prank on Sen. Mary Landrieu is still trying to get attention. This time James O’Keefe seems to have tried to lure a CNN reporter onto a boat to “seduce” her in front of hidden cameras. The story is so weird that you should read the full report from the reporter, Abbie Boudreau, here. Suffice it to say, the plans called for lube, condoms, dildos, pornography and candles. O’Keefe now says he never planned to follow through with it.

Maybe, O’Keefe can start a reality show with the Salahis. One that never airs.

The Phony War: Obama and Romney Are Debating Character, Not Policy

More than five months from Election Day, the back-and-forth about Mitt Romney’s record at Bain already feels played out. Unfortunately, there’s good reason to expect the campaign continues in this vein indefinitely. Neither Barack Obama nor Mitt Romney are terribly interested in dwelling on policy platforms. Romney’s plan to slash spending and keep taxes low on the wealthy isn’t especially popular, at least not at any level of detail beyond a blithe promise to shrink the deficit. Meanwhile, Obama’s signature first-term achievements, like health care, the stimulus and Wall Street reform, are all unpopular or tricky to sell. (The Dodd-Frank bill is the most popular of these, but hyping it means offending wealthy donors.) So what we’re getting instead is a superficial duel about character–and, worse, one that’s based on the largely false premise that the better man can better “manage” the economy back to health.

    He didn’t trick Acorn.

The Acorn employee called the cops.
    .
    Remember?
    .
You guys were tricked by that loser O’Keefe.
    .
    …And by Andrew Breitbart.
    .
    So was Jon Stewart.
    .
    Remember?

    Who owns TIME.com again? Hmmmmm

    Good point, Rustydog.

    And? So he didn’t try?

I am not justifying what O’Keefe did with ACORN. However, I find it very enlightening to say the least as to what was captured, and the behavior of the ACORN employees at that time.
    .
He is nothing short of just getting out of college, he did an investigative report on a community organizing group in America which gets millions of federal dollars. The exposure this got was nothing but eye-opening to say the least. In fact their funding to my knowledge has not been re-instated, one would come to the conclusion that there were rules broken, there were things being done by ACORN that the majority of people in America do not agree with.
    .
With that said, why would a seasoned reporter like Abbie Boudreau even agree to such a meeting in the first place with this guy? She had to know everything he did with ACORN. Don’t you think? Oh that’s right, she led the investigation and reporting for CNN on O’Keefe from the start of it all once his video about ACORN broke.
    .
Seems to me that TIME.com a subsidiary of CNN or vice versa is making this into some sort of sad attack on this basically, kid, for what purpose? What does it have to do with anything other than O’Keefe may be attempting to get another sensationalized story so that Breitbart plays it on his website again.

Absolutely hilarious how the liberal msm is in a frenzied mode to try and boost the Dems near election time. Its quite embaressing to watch NBC basically do an infomercial for obama. The contrast in coverage from now to back when the Dems were about to take over is a great case study in media bias. The MSM is doing whatever it can to boost Dems and young voters to come back and vote for Dems again. Obambi complaining about Fox was pretty funny too. Can you imagine how the MSM would have reacted if Bush called out NBC, CBS ABC NY Times TIME etc etc. for there obvious liberal bias. It would be quite a different story. Blatant liberal journos like Joe Klein..JNS and the rest of the loony left “reporters” here will no doubt be writing disparinging articles on O Donnell Angle etc..but not many negatives on Dems. I bet the ratio will be like 8 or 9 negatives on Repubs vs. 1 negative on dems.

“Bubble headed bleached blonde”? Perhaps Mr. O’Keefe should have added the Eagles to his playlist.

  • filmnoia

I think that this kid O’Keefe is a Democratic operative indulging in a form of guerilla theater, much like the type the other Dem. plant Michael Steele is involved with. No two guys can really be that stupid, can they?

Didn’t she have a picture of this skinny loser?
    .
If so, why would she even agree to a meeting? He ain’t Tom Brady. Or even Matthew Brady.

Michael Richards, Jon Gosselin, Mel Gibson, John Mayer, John Edwards, and the newest member: James O’Keefe!

First trying to pump life into the Vitter escapades and now this. I guess the main question is how desperate is Time.com for viewers or have they passed the National Inquirer in the race to the bottom.
    .
While pushing sex scandals may have marginal value in a campaign (Let’s not bring up character since the liberals whiffed on that one with Clinton) a story about some narcissistic kid not running for as much as dog catcher is nothing but sensationalism.
    .
I guess when Dems could barely get a vote for recess, Obama crying about Fox, Obama accomplice Stern of SEIU under FBI investigation and another Obama accomplice the head of AFL-CIO calling for public control of private companies it is better to get focus pointed in another direction.

  • grape_crush

With that said, why would a seasoned reporter like Abbie Boudreau even agree to such a meeting in the first place with this guy?
    .
    From the linked article:

For months, I had been working on a documentary about the young conservative movement. James had called me about concerns he had regarding an upcoming shoot. He asked me to meet him to talk about the shoot. I agreed to fly to Maryland and then drive to his “office” for a face-to-face conversation with him.

When I showed up, there was no office, as promised. Instead, he wanted to get me on a boat, which we later learned, was staged as a “pleasure palace.” One of his colleagues, Izzy Santa, who was in Maryland that day, told me about the plan and stopped the punk before it happened.

    Good point, Rustydog.
    .
I hope that’s sarcasm, Stuart. Otherwise, you’ve lost your mind.

  • shepherdwong

…he did an investigative report on a community organizing group in America which gets millions of federal dollars.
    .
You can call what Breitbart and O’Keefe do a lot of things – political hit job, smear, lying propaganda, etc., but only a slobbering winger who thinks FOX is a news program and gets his “facts” from Glenn Beck would call it “investigative report[ing]. Go figure.

  • filmnoia

“Let’s not bring up character since the liberals whiffed on that one with Clinton”

At least, as far as we know, Bill didn’t wear diapers, and was rather orthodox in his sexual predilictions,
whereas Vitter is the Huggies Kid.

  • newfreedomblog

As the train wreck called the Obama Administration is so evident, what better way to get people to gawk at something else except reality?
    .
While the movement liberals on this site will lay claim the media as represented here by TIME.com is somehow shilling for the “Centrists”, it is just a game now for most media. The game is who can we put on the cover to sell the most ragazines.
    .
There is no more credibility left in the media. There is only one more sensationalized story to tell to get people to gawk at all the dead and mutilated bodies lying along the roadside.
    .
I guess until we simply quit gawking, then they will continue to feed this garbage to us.

  • newfreedomblog

And an a$$wipe like sheperdwong knows everything, imagine that!!

  • hippooath

So what you’re saying is that liberals did it too so that makes doing it a-okay and liberals are waaaaaay worse.
    .
Personally I don’t care what color their party pin is when I hold someone responsible. It’s more the partisan critters game.

Have you seen Rusty’s comments. I especially love the part where he’ll make a claim, you’ll beat him into a corner that he can’t find an answer to, and then he’ll make the same claim next week.

  • southernbell49

The MSM really needs to revisit the original Acorn “expose” and offer apologies for believing O’Keefe in the first instance.

I sincerely doubt CNN will admit to their own culpability in unquestioningly airing O’Keefe’s doctored “gotcha”.

  • http://forgottenlord.livejournal.com forgottenlord

There’s a world of difference between hypocrisy and “character” as you Republicans call it. I couldn’t give a hoot that Clinton got a blow job in the Oval Office regardless of whether it was Monica Lewinsky or a gay Naval officer. That’s his business. I was much more ticked off at him lying flat out about it but even that I let go because he was lying about his conduct on an issue that I don’t care about, that I don’t believe anyone other than his family should care about, and that the press were being far too nosy about and the answer “no comment” didn’t seem to be nearly sufficient.
    .
But David Vitter is a “Family man” who bought a prostitute. It’s like the hundreds of priests and conservatives who rant and rave about the evils of homosexuality and are caught doing it. Those guys drive me bonkers!
    .
Yes, there are Democrats who do those types of things. I criticize them when those incidents come up. I don’t fault Obama on Gitmo (since he got screwed by Congress), but a lot of his National Security policies – particularly the intelligence related ones that he effectively totally reversed his campaign position – I get frustrated by.
    .
There is a world of difference between “character” (as you conservatives call it, though really it’s just ability to stick to a puritan lifestyle as defined by religious evangelicals) and hypocrisy. I can respect someone who violates the former, I can’t for the latter.

  • shepherdwong

I sincerely doubt CNN will admit to their own culpability in unquestioningly airing O’Keefe’s doctored “gotcha”.
    .
Can you imagine? CNN Announcer: “CNN, the best apologizing for misinforming the public on television.”

Remember how the right loved their James O’Keefe before he was shown to be such a tool? Why, he even addressed the value voters at CPAC. A tool he is to his mentor Breitbart (who needs serious anger management).

  • jscottg

    Dear Sir,

I must object to the implication that there was anything untoward in Mr. O’Keefe’s behavior. I mean, who among us hasn’t wanted to lure an attractive woman aboard our sexual aide strewn Love Boat so we can film ourselves seducing her?

    Sincerely,

    Richard Francis Cottingham

  • earljr1

Mr. O’keefe did Americans a huge favor by exposing how rotten the ACORN was and the left wing is still in a tither! For what reason? I can only assume it is mourning the loss of 100′s of thousands of illegal votes delivered to the democrats by this bogus political operation. You only exhibit your willingness to manipulate the voting process to achieve your evil design and yet you wonder why Americans are viewing you less favorably now. Go figure!

  • nflfoghorn

I can only assume it is mourning the loss of 100′s of thousands of illegal votes delivered to the democrats by this bogus political operation.
    .
Yes, you can only assume, because there was zero evidence of a single illegal vote delivered to anyone by ACORN. None. Nothing.
    .
You know all those names that ACORN workers had that were shown to be made up? ACORN flagged those themselves and turned them into the authorities.
    .
And no one ever voted under those names. If you’d ever voted, you might be aware that you need ID to do so. Just writing down a fake name doesn’t do a thing.
    .
But thanks for showing me that there really is someone stupid enough to believe the right-wing lies about it all.

  • earljr1

Cats in the litter box trying to cover the stench from ACORN permeating the room. Two liberal airheads with their usual “who us”? defense. Why am I not surprised?

  • apr2563

How young Republican of O’Keefe. Besides presuming he could seduce any young woman, he seems to take his sexual queues from some 7th grade fantasy. Fuzzy handcuffs? What a pathetic loser.

Make that cues. Seriously, aging is not fun.
