The Alvin Greene Rap

I wanted to post this video yesterday, but never had time to report out the identity of its author. Thankfully, CNN’s Peter Hamby, the network’s man for all things South Carolina, did the legwork. It turns out that this is not an official campaign product of Alvin Greene, the Democratic party’s unexpected candidate for the U.S. Senate from South Carolina, but the candidate does approve. “It sounds good,” Greene tells Hamby. “Make sure everybody hears it.”

Obama Stumbles? Why the President’s Right to Talk About Bain

The meme of the day in journo-world is that President Obama has stumbled at the outset of the general election campaign. The evidence for this? Well, uh, there isn’t very much, really–except that a few Democrats have criticized his campaign’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital and that Obama’s fundraising is merely humongous, instead of obscenely humongous. The two phenomena are linked, of course: Obama isn’t getting the usual haul from Wall Street because he has outrageously–outrageously!–tried to regulate the bankers who did so much to crash the economy in 2008. The handful of Democrats squawking are people who either (a) get money from private equity firms or (b) have retired and joined Mondo Casino. But there is another side to this story:

    Michael,
    .
Did you clear this post with your friends at JournoList? I wouldn’t want you to get into trouble with your team at JList.
    .
Joe already made his very lame excuses for being apart of this anti democratic group.
    .
When are you going to explain to us how you justified being apart of this conspiracy?

  • nflfoghorn

If a bunch of police officers got together, would you call it a Copolist? Or firemen “Burn Notices”? Or lawyers a “List to Sue”? You must think everyone who doesn’t think like you must have a nefarious purpose when they congregate.

  • ilikechips

MS- seriously would love to see a post from you regarding your participation on journolist and the plotting to help Obama and trying to banish FOX news because they arent liberal.

you should try to clear this up because your objectivity is clearly questionable

    nflog,
    .
You and Michael ought to read this. It will give you both a better understanding of the proper role of Journalists in our Democracy.
    .

The Journalist’s Creed – A Code of Ethics
    ——————————————————–
I believe in the profession of Journalism.

I believe that the public journal is a public trust; that all connected with it are, to the full measure of responsibility, trustees for the public; that acceptance of lesser service than the public service is a betrayal of this trust.

I believe that clear thinking, clear statement, accuracy and fairness are fundamental to good journalism.

I believe that a journalist should write only what he holds in his heart to be true.

I believe that suppression of the news, for any consideration other than the welfare of society, is indefensible.

I believe that no one should write as a journalist what he would not say as a gentleman; that bribery by one’s own pocket book is as much to be avoided as bribery by the pocketbook of another; that individual responsibility may not be escaped by pleading another’s instructions or another’s dividends.

I believe that advertising, news and editorial columns should alike serve the best interests of readers; that a single standard of helpful truth and cleanness should prevail for all; that supreme test of good journalism is the measure of its public service.

I believe that the journalism which succeeds the best-and best deserves success-fears God and honors man; is stoutly independent; unmoved by pride of opinion or greed of power; constructive, tolerant but never careless, self-controlled, patient, always respectful of its readers but always unafraid, is quickly indignant at injustice; is unswayed by the appeal of the privilege or the clamor of the mob; seeks to give every man a chance, and as far as law, an honest wage and recognition of human brotherhood can make it so, an equal chance; is profoundly patriotic while sincerely promoting international good will and cementing world-comradeship, is a journalism of humanity, of and for today’s world.

    That’s…epic.

I’m really enjoying this journolist stuff. We all know damn well that the entirety of the right wing attack machine basically gets a bullet point list every day of what they are supposed to talk about. Once those private conversations start getting out and the details of how they conspire to puke funnel their dirt into public discourse, we are going to be in for a show. Mark my words.
On a related note, thanks to my right wing uncle forwarding racist and discriminatory e-mails to me, I basically have a list of people I have been developing who are part of a similar “bigot-list”, who send each other racist e-mails and comment back and forth on them. It implicates literally the entire police force of one of the biggest cities in Wyoming.
Should I release the names of the people in my list? I am considering doing so?

    pafro,

“We all know damn well that the entirety of the right wing attack machine basically gets a bullet point list every day of what they are supposed to talk about.”
    .
Gee. I’m, a conservative and you know this for a fact but I don’t. Maybe you’re getting opinions and perceptions mixed up with Facts.
    .
Perhaps you should read Post 1.2 above and you’ll have a better understanding of facts and how a journalist is supposed to act in our Democracy. That is if you care about our Democracy.
    .
Deal with Facts rather than Hate. You might find it refreshing.

  • megatronrises

I still don’t see how being a part of Journolist violates the code.

  • megatronrises

How about Fox trying to discredit all other news networks because they aren’t conservative?
    .
Oh wait, your conservative. So you don’t care about that.

  • megatronrises

    *you’re

  • megatronrises

    Hey 3X,
    .
I’m pretty sure pafro is being sardonic.
    .
Also, have you heard of Fox News? Because I’m pretttty sure they don’t follow the Journalist’s Creed…

  • 3xfire3

    megat,
    .

“Also, have you heard of Fox News? Because I’m pretttty sure they don’t follow the Journalist’s Creed”
    .
FOX follows it a hell of a lot closer than the MSM. If you were not so far Left and had an open mind you would know that. The MSM and MSNBC have warped your mind.

“FOX follows it a hell of a lot closer than the MSM. If you were not so far Left and had an open mind you would know that. The MSM and MSNBC have warped your mind.”

Dan Rather: After nearly 40 years with CBS fails to check facts and gets false evidence of GWB using his father’s political contacts to keep out of Vietnam (which was extremely common in that time, but not ethical) and he loses his job.
    .
Fox takes a doctored and edited tape and broadcast it as news resulting in POTUS believing it as fact and terminating her. Results to Fox reporters: nothing.
    .
Defense: POTUS should have presumed Fox was lying.
    .
Sports and weather are the only trustworthy things on Fox News and, with their constantly claiming that there is no climate change, I have to wonder about their weather reports.

  • 3xfire3

    Patrick and APR,
    .
Patrick I’m going to break my rule and reply to you this time because you either choose to LIE or can’t keep your facts strait.
    .
“Fox takes a doctored and edited tape and broadcast it as news resulting in POTUS believing it as fact and terminating her. Results to Fox reporters: nothing.”
    .
FOX did no broadcast the tape until a day “after” she was fired. The day “after” she was fired.

After learning of the doctored tapes FOX apologized to her.
    .
No FOX Hard News Reporters had any involvement with this tape.
    .
The only involvement was by Opinion Commitators Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity.
    .
Glenn Beck’s only involvement was to stand up for her a say she should “not” have been fires.
    .
Hopefully this information will help you understand the facts better.
    .
Please don’t come back with a bunch of Excuses or BS. Be a man and accept that in this case you were wrong.
    .
Also regarding your comment about my daughter. When a person sinks so low as to make such comments, they do not deserve a response. It only shows a lack of chacter on the part of the individual making the commemnt.
    .
Apr funny how you claim to be such a “Good Feminist” but say nothing about Patrick’s insulting comments he has made several times about my daughter.
    .
If you were really interested in fairness for women you would have said something. You can’t have it both ways.

For the right to operate massive plots—one proposed farm envisioned a 100,000 sq. ft. facility—businesses would have to fork $211,000 for the annual permit and a $5,000 administration fee to cover expenses like background checks.
