In Defense Of Rep. Steve Cohen’s Dance Moves

Okay. So the Tennessee Democrat from Memphis, Rep. Steve Cohen, doesn’t have all that much rhythm, as these videos from a recent campaign event show.

But that doesn’t matter. Cohen is a great lover of music. Let us all take a moment to remember Cohen’s heartfelt remembrance of Alex Chilton on the House floor in March. If you love the music, you can dance any way you want.

The Phony War: Obama and Romney Are Debating Character, Not Policy

More than five months from Election Day, the back-and-forth about Mitt Romney’s record at Bain already feels played out. Unfortunately, there’s good reason to expect the campaign continues in this vein indefinitely. Neither Barack Obama nor Mitt Romney are terribly interested in dwelling on policy platforms. Romney’s plan to slash spending and keep taxes low on the wealthy isn’t especially popular, at least not at any level of detail beyond a blithe promise to shrink the deficit. Meanwhile, Obama’s signature first-term achievements, like health care, the stimulus and Wall Street reform, are all unpopular or tricky to sell. (The Dodd-Frank bill is the most popular of these, but hyping it means offending wealthy donors.) So what we’re getting instead is a superficial duel about character–and, worse, one that’s based on the largely false premise that the better man can better “manage” the economy back to health.

But what does Alvin Greene think about this?

    Or Sarah Palin

  • 53_3

This proves that Democrats are nothing but race-baiting lowlifes…

  • earljr1

Just another sad example of pandering….something Mr. Obama and his party do extremely well!

  • 53_3

Wow! I have powers! I predicted earljr1′s response!

  • 53_3

Is there a problem here, earljr1?
    .
You and the teabaggers pander a particular demographic, don’t you? You pander to Libertarians, don’t you?
    .
You see, earljr1 politics is all about pandering. When discussed positively, it has another name:
    .
“Addressing the concerns of my constituants”
    .
So, now, earljr1, I’d like to ask you this question:
    .
Tell me what is wrong with pandering to the Black community.
    .
Let’s see you do it without walking into that wall…

Funny to watch, and he can dance any way he wants, but such gross lack of rhythm does infringe on appreciation of the music. It is so tragic that one who loves music is so lacking in such a key element of it.

He’s just following the advice from Ou Est Le Swimming Pool:

  • earljr1

Gee, 53, exactly WHAT concerns were being addressed at this meeting with his “constituents”? (this is the correct spelling, btw) It sure looks more like pandering to me.

  • 53_3

Why is that a problem? What was the Teabagger Express?
    .
Are you telling me that GOPers don’t pander?

  • 53_3

And, earljr1, on top of having some fun, with no purpose at all, what’s the harm? What’s your point?
