Romney Defends Bain Record, Hits Obama on Economy: ‘He Just Doesn’t Have a Clue’

Mitt Romney lashed President Obama’s economic stewardship in an interview with TIME’s Mark Halperin on Wednesday, deflecting attacks on his years as a private equity executive and laying out how he hopes to take control of the economy as soon as he’s sworn in, should he defeat Obama in November.

Mother of Mitt: How Lenore Romney’s Failed Campaign Shaped the Presumptive Republican Nominee

This week’s TIME cover story, “The Mother of the Mitt Campaign,” tells the tale of how Lenore Romney’s 1970 run for U.S. Senate may have made a bigger impression on the Republican presidential candidate than his years spent as the son of a governor. Mitt’s father lost his own presidential bid, but it was the lessons from his mother’s loss that are more instructive as Romney enters the campaign stretch.

At the gym this morning watched short documentary on ESPN on Robbin Island and how Mandela and the prisoners used soccer to maintain morale and prepare for the future. Excellent.

Never was a fan of Nike commercials. It never speaks of the quality of the product – just selling ideas.
    .
    “Did you learn anything?”
    .
I’ll pick any Gatorade commercial over it.

And the Budweiser Frogs are not on the list… They never got their big finale like “Lost” and “24″. All those hours spent on line debating the complex relationships between the frogs and the true meaning of “zerrrr”. Maybe I can start a web letter writing campaign for the making of “Budweiser Frogs: The Final Chapter”.

List does not seem updated Mr. Scherer. I know not about sports ads, but I am proud to be Mexican (as most of the other people who made this particular one).

Ivy: Good movie on this topic. “Invictus” with Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman. On DVD and pay per view now.

  • Ivy_B

Watched Invictus on the plane and loved it. However, it is about rugby, not soccer.
    .
For those who don’t know the film – Rugby was the sport of the white Africaners and soccer was the sport of the blacks. Mandela decided that if they were to have a unified country and be able to govern, so he approached the rugby team, the Springboks, and met the team and attended their games. He told the ANC followers that they should support the rugby team as well, to the grumbling of some. But, it made a difference and won the ANC support from many Africaners.

This is definitely the best soccer advert made – shown before the 2006 world cup and as part of Carlsberg Beer’s series of ‘Carlsberg don’t do _____ – but if they did then it would probably be the best _____ in the world’ adverts. All of the players are ex-England national team players and are now very clearly past their prime!

(in UK they call it football – maybe because it’s played with your foot and a ball;-)

Your right Ivy. I had a senior moment. And, I just watched it 2 days ago. Some of the time I spent trying to figure out what the huddles were all about.

I’ll start enjoying Nike ads and products when they stop using underpaid and child labor to produce their over priced products. The “we are the world” propoganda is so much hypocrisy.

    Gotta love the Jordan ones.
