In Trouble, Gordon Brown Tries To Soar, Embraces Obama, Gets Interrupted

The polls are headed in the wrong direction for Gordon Brown, and he is losing newspaper endorsements. But he is not flagging one bit, as he showed today in a speech to Citizens UK. It is quite a performance, with a notable Barack Obama homage (at 2:45). But since this is a Gordon Brown speech, something had to go all wrong. So look also for the anti-nuke protester who jumps onto the stage (at 7:43).

Likable chap. Tough few weeks for him, though. The vote is on May 6.

With Saturday Victories, Romney Retakes Control of the GOP Narrative

Mitt Romney, the perpetually questioned front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, had a rough week. Three embarrassing losses to Rick Santorum in Tuesday’s non-binding contests led to questions about Romney’s conservative bona fides just in time for GOP activists, gathering at their annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, to collectively grumble about it. But in two narrow, largely symbolic victories on Saturday, Romney reclaimed the headlines. Never mind the details. He was winning again.

Yeah, whither Nauru? What happens now that they dug out all the bird poop? Now that’s a mining reclamation project. Is Australia kicking in funds?

…actually, I think Jay’s forced vacation in London ala Mt. Jindal created a lot of the UK coverage. I’m now interested in the election – better than ’08 here – and am guilty of driving Jay and Catherine to tears asking for more thoughts. Three coherent candidates (even if one hates old women) with different views, no McCainesque “I Shall Return (to DC)” drama, no Sarah Palin, what’s not to like?

Yeah, what about Nauru? What happens now that they dug out all the bird (youknowwhat, which got comment in moderation)? Now that’s a mining reclamation project. Is Australia kicking in funds?

Why aren’t you people talking about Arizona, or the spill in the Gulf (apart from the stupid manufactured “politicization” storyline)?

I am sure in TIME Ragazine’s eyes, they consider themselves a “global” news source. (Snark at it’s best).
    .
The other reason, being a Democrat lapdog for the Obama Administration, why should they bring to light, shed any transparency on a failing Adminstration?
    .
Gibbs will give them their talking points and then you will see a “story” about it. Not until Gibbs gives them their marching orders will lame stream media sources like TIME take action. They have proven it over and over again for nearly 2 years now.

The group who organised the event certainly take a good bit of motivation from Obama’s community organizing past
